NEWS: Nathan Bock will be forced to watch from the sidelines as his Gold Coast Suns teammates contest the NAB Cup campaign and early rounds of 2013 Premiership season. Club medicos are taking a cautious approach to Bock's recovery. Gold Coast rehabilitation coach Matthew Kennedy said despite being unavailable for selection early in the year, Bock was progressing well. "He's certainly on track, but is still a little bit off from getting back to the main training group," said Kennedy.

NEWS: In Round 6 against Fremantle, Bock has fractured his right tibia in the first quarter. "The Suns later confirmed Bock would undergo surgery and miss "a substantial period of time." This is a bad blow for the injury riddled Suns.

NEWS: Gold Coast Sun's decision to move Bock into the forwards lines, is looking to be a brilliant move. He is playing terrific football. Last night in the opening to the NAB Cup second round, Bock finished with 17 possessions, 7 marks and 4.4 goals, leaving him with 94 Dream Team points.
| ||||
NEWS: Bock has booted 4 goals in an intra-club practice match, playing in the forward lines for all 4 quarters. This will take a further hit to Bock's chances of returning a solid season in fantasy land. If Bock plays forward, forget him. He will not give you what you are after. Bock is not eligible to play until Round 3 this season due to suspension.
| ||||
NEWS: There is no reason to think Bock couldn't improve further in 2012. He had to change his role as a Defender last season from his time with the Adelaide Crows because he didn't have the support down back he used to have. With another year under the young Gold Coast defenders belts, as long as Bock is not injured you would think he could play more freely and collect more possessions than last year. All big IFs though. Disclaimer: Bock will miss the first 2 games of 2012 with through suspension for a gambling incident. | This is a 2012 outlook article.
| ||||
NEWS: He leaked information that in Round 24 of the 2011 season he would be playing forward. It paid handsomely at around 100/1 and he has been punished accordingly. The AFL has a zero tolerance level with the involvement of players and sports betting.
| ||||
NEWS: Bock was moved from his usual defensive position to the forward lines on the weekend. The betting for first goal was changed immediately, however, a noticeable influx of betting for Bock to kick the first goal occurred before this happened. It certainly seems suspect. Something potentially had to have leaked.
