I am guessing Yarran is still sore. Is he likely to be in round 2?

How long do you think the browne experiment will last??? Hes very skinny young ruckmen.. Doubt he’ll will play heaps this year.

JB, Yarran is apparently not fit enough yet.
read that in some article on afl.com i think.

said yarren will play first few rounds in VFL.

Browne only really has to do better than Graham at the moment with Pattison injured.

    no angus graham?

what do people think would be a better choice for bench forwards: Garlett or Hogan?

    March 25, 2009 at 5:35 pm

mmm thought hampson would play over jacobs, ah well saves me 10 grand.

Hey monty… how long do you think garlett can stay in the blues 22 for?? There isnt much point putting him in if he get replaced a couple of weeks in to the season. Am i correct in saying that yarren will be fighting for garlett’s spot over the next few weeks?

    March 25, 2009 at 5:37 pm

what is wrong with cotchin? any tips for a middie around $300,000 to start in my 22 week 1?

  13. garreth

    March 25, 2009 at 5:37 pm

so do the rest of the lineups come out at 5pm tomorrow?

  14. poos

    March 25, 2009 at 5:38 pm

Hey, Aaron Joseph will get the run with role. Do you see that happening all year?

  15. DC

    March 25, 2009 at 5:39 pm

That’s right Garreth, and so begins the 160 minutes of malestrom….

  16. Pete

    March 25, 2009 at 5:39 pm

so fev is named: who should i pick as no 3 forward between the fev and s.johnson???
my thinking is johnson can get his own touches in a game giving consistancy and fev relys on the midfield but can score big ones when carlton are firing…

    March 25, 2009 at 5:40 pm

No Rance is disappointing too. Is anyone looking at making a change to ensure a benched point scorer for rd1?

  18. Pete

    March 25, 2009 at 5:41 pm

fishtaylor: brent rielly in SC. i have him!

  19. reconfig

    March 25, 2009 at 5:41 pm

err… waite is half forward… not half back… interesting. Does anyone know if waite played up forward anytime last season, and if he did, was his performance good?

  20. gerry01

    March 25, 2009 at 5:44 pm

    how close were you monty?

  21. m0nty

    March 25, 2009 at 5:47 pm

gerry01: pretty close! The Browne/Graham decision was changed in the last week or two due to training form, otherwise I had Richmond down pat. Carlton was a bit harder to pick and I didn’t think they’d go with so many youngsters, plus I hadn’t heard Walker wouldn’t come up.

  22. gerry01

    March 25, 2009 at 5:49 pm

good job. i was using those drafts heaps and you getting that close makes me stress less for the rest of my decisions

    March 25, 2009 at 5:52 pm

looks dicey gents 🙁 I think Dan Browne is writing a best seller cracking this code, Robinson and perhaps Jacobs for me. the rest are so unpredictable

Re: fishtaylor – Cotchin has achilles tendonitis and won’t make the seniors until Round 5 or 6 at the earliest.

does cash not spent before rd 1 carry over into the main season??? this is for SC…

  28. Jonny Hart

    March 25, 2009 at 6:37 pm

Walker as an emergency? I don’t need this crap from Ratten. He’s fit or he isn’t.

  29. Cicjose

    March 25, 2009 at 6:43 pm

    Cousins in forward pocket????

thats really awkward if i have him in midfield and doesnt get much on ball time 🙁

    March 25, 2009 at 6:50 pm

why play Graham through all pre season and now slot in Browne after they both had similar games last week???

I thought Graham was a 3-4 week lock in

  32. TwoBeaus

    March 25, 2009 at 6:52 pm

    walker is very very suspicious

  33. jasondevo

    March 25, 2009 at 6:53 pm

    Fev was always gonna play

I’m a carlton supporter and he never misses a big game

  34. pnut

    March 25, 2009 at 7:16 pm

monty, who do u see going out of the carlton team once walker, stevens, carrazzo an probably grigg are back in the team?

  35. ANTMANS

    March 25, 2009 at 7:25 pm

how many people are swapping yarran for garlett ?????

  36. m0nty

    March 25, 2009 at 7:38 pm

Good question pnut. Joseph would be out for Grigg, if not sooner. Russell would be out for Carrazzo. Wiggins out for Walker. As for Stevens, he would replace Hadley or Robinson I think, depending on form.

i need some more SC and DT leagues to join

  38. Sam

    March 25, 2009 at 7:42 pm

    Hmm.. i’m starting a rookie.

Walker and Brown are locked in and the third spot i’m not sure about. Garlett or Hogan are favourites now.

Monty, who do you see as playing more games?

  39. Disco (UK)

    March 25, 2009 at 7:48 pm

monty – based on your last comment, Jacobs seems to be the only rookie worth having.

I have to say that I’m sick and tired of looking at my squad; re-jigging it and the re-jigging it again! I just had a final look and barring any major changes it stays as it is…..

Gone with Ballantyne on my bench as I reckon he’ll come straight in when he is ready if he is not right for this week or next. Also gone with Broughton & L.Anthony on my bench and have taken a risk with L.Henderson.

    Re: Sam

Im in the exact same position as you with the rookies, either Garlett or Hogan…

Would love to go Hogan coz the kid will do well but can he break into the cats side, i have my doubts…

    Monty, any ideas?

  42. Brad

    March 25, 2009 at 7:58 pm

    @ Pete.
    Yes it does mate.
You can keep savings in the bank for use when trading later if you wish.
No more than $50,000 tho. m0nty note: that is wrong, you keep all your cash.

  43. Sam

    March 25, 2009 at 7:59 pm

Hogan is in my team at the moment. I want to sort it out tonight because i am at uni all day tomo and don’t want to risk a trade during the maelstrom!

    Monty, PLEASE HELP!!

    “james Says:
How long do you think the browne experiment will last??? Hes very skinny young ruckmen.. Doubt he’ll will play heaps this year.”

    Skinny? Your kidding right!!

He’s 105kg and the heaviest player on Richmond’s list so I don’t know where you got your information from mate.

  46. Clint

    March 25, 2009 at 8:14 pm

it’s gonna be a hard one to tip, i rekon the tigers might have the edge at the moment

  47. james

    March 25, 2009 at 8:23 pm

John.. i didnt know that.. I have just seen two pictures of him and was comparing him to graham.. Just found it strange why chose graham over him.. being younger and both delivering similar performances in the NAB matches.. guess it came down to Training form.

  48. T-Lads

    March 25, 2009 at 8:27 pm

monty, when is cougland and rance expected to play, if at all??

  49. Benii

    March 25, 2009 at 8:44 pm

Since when are you capped at having only $50,000 left in the bank? I can’t see that in any of the rules.

  50. PlayEr

    March 25, 2009 at 8:48 pm

    Sam Jacobs or Andrew Browne?
