I don't want to be the bringer of weekly team news but losing Dawes for the ANZAC Day clash is far from ideal. I went to the game and have no recollection of anything adverse at all (everyone knew Brown would get off) so it is a bit of a worry that the guy who single handedly straightens up our structure will be watching from the stands.

Insert conspiracy theory here or just bad luck?

The commentators didn't even think it was worthy of a mention at the time! Jarrod Waite's kung fu kick was a LOT worse than this....I'm gusseing this sort of thing happens 50 times every week....

If that's 1 week, what should Campbell Brown have got for his elbow behind play? Only 2 weeks? Give me a break....

the MRP is a flowering joke!

though it is funny to see Cruise think there is a conspiracy theory going on.   ;D
Collingwood is a great and currently dominant team but they get massive concessions on the draw due to their pulling power - playing interstate 4 times out of 22rds it is laughable when Eddie complains about this with every interstate team travelling every other week!

speaking of conspiracy theories, i think Eddie also secretly bribes the umpires, that or they are scared of the Pies fans.   ;)

Just baiting people with the conspiracy theory, seems to have worked.

It is a very minor incident though to be rubbed out for, I think everyone is kind of on the same page on that one.

Dawes appeal just won - he has gotten off the charge.  Just been watching the live tribunal on afl.com.au
Quote
Mark Macgugan:
Wayne Henwood speaking on behalf of the tribunal said the contact was accidental, not negligent, and as such Dawes is off the hook. Great news for the Magpies. Not so good for the Bombers.

Agreed, Pav still eligible for Brownlow - must have been some common sense pills in the water tonight.

I reckon a lot of MRP decisions would be overturned at the tribunal, it's just clubs don't want to risk longer suspensions.

Both Dawes and Pav didnt risk a longer suspension by appealing (no suspension in Pav's case)

even though he (rightly) got off we have to remember it was a reprimand and wouldnt have been suspended if not for carryover points, so comparing the 1 week to browns 2 is stupid especially when browns would have been 3 if not for the guilty plea

I am 99.9% sure Campell would have had carryover points :P

I am a bit peeved at his performances lately, but because I had him in side from day dot, I'll keep him a little longer as he did not cost a great deal. Hard to choose a Pies player in my FWD's to score big as most of our goals come from all over ground.
