Cox intercepts Sicily’s rebound kick and goes to the pocket for Wright to mark in front of Sicily 35m out. Wright steers that one through. (Q1 6:16)
Ginnivan bounces a snap towards the square from the pocket, but it doesn’t sit up for Macdonald and goes across the face for a point. (Q1 8:32)
Ward pinches the footy from Merrett on members wing to start a counter, Nash goes to the pocket for Ginnivan to mark 30m out. Ginni screws in the first goal for Hawthorn. (Q1 12:00)

Sicily intercepts at half back and it’s another switch on rebound, Impey to Ginnivan on the far wing who spots up Chol 35m out on a slight angle. Chol kicks truly. (Q3 3:15)
Impey is in the hole but fails to get a hand on a centre clearance pass by Perkins to Menzie 25m out on a slight angle. Menzie shanks for no score. (Q3 4:45)
Amon’s rebound kick is the worst kick of the day, straight to three Bombers 45m out on a slight angle. Perkins wins the raffle to mark and goal. (Q3 5:30)
Merrett plays on to advantage for a Setterfield HTB free on Worpel on outer wing, he spots up Wright leading to 45m on a slight angle who shanks it OOTF. (Q3 10:35)
Breust passes to Macdonald 40m out on the flank who kicks across the face low and inaccurately. (Q3 12:14)
Martin flies to try to intercept a Weddle inside 50 to the hotspot, but Watson dives for a lovely mark and his first senior goal! Elementary. (Q3 13:45)
Caldwell runs to true CHF after receiving from Prekins from the centre and slots the running goal to restore Essendon’s lead. (Q3 16:00)

Langford keeps his feet while Hardwick loses his to mark a Tsatas pass to 25m on the flank. His set shot is a peach, goal number one. (Q3 25:58)
Chol feeds Amon running past from a set shot from 50m on a slight angle for a trademark long finish. (Q3 27:22)
Stringer evades Sicily on the HFF and centres to the hotspot where Langford shepherds Hardwick off the fall to allow Guelfi to mark and goal. (Q3 29:30)
Kelly mops up a grubbing Amon rebound and gives to Durham who blazes wide off a step from 40m. (Q4 1:34)
Guelfi is given an age to get rid of a handball under an Ambrosio tackle at a stoppage near the hotspot, ball sits up for Durham who baulks clear and goals. (Q4 3:21)
Tsatas catches Weddle HTB in the centre after the Hawks try to switch but get into trouble, pass goes straight to Stringer 40m out in the corridor, he kicks truly. (Q4 8:01)
Hawthorn has had a lot of the play today but have lacked polish and poise. (Q4 9:04)
Weddle does better with a run through the centre and long ball to Lewis who beats Kelly to mark near the hotspot and boot his first goal. (Q4 10:21)
Maginness has Gunston over the back for a simple pass and easy goal but he misses the kick and it dribbles for a behind. Too often by that player. (Q4 14:03)
After an Amon scoot up the corridor on rebound, Gunston baulks at half forward and passes to Moore 30m on a slight angle who converts. (Q4 15:32)
Ambrosio fumbles on the HBF, Setterfield scrubs a kick to Langford who juggles a big contested grab in front of Sicily 20m out on the flank and kicks truly. (Q4 18:03)
Essendon’s exits from centre bounce have been crucial today and they burst out of the next one, Gresham receives, turns and bangs through another one from CHF! (Q4 19:32)
Duursma coughs up a ground ball to Moore on the HBF, Lewis feeds Watson who checksides wide from the pocket 20m out with a man on inside for the give. Hungry muggle! (Q4 23:05)
Caldwell’s kick inside 50 to the pocket is off hands over the back to Langford who wobbles through his third goal to put the contest to bed. (Q4 26:02)
Setterfield misses a pass to Jones in the square, ball bounces wide left for a point. (Q4 27:05)
Ambrosio tries a checkside off the left from 20m in front but shanks a behind, really needed a right foot there. (Q4 28:27)
