Another great write up Mr.Craig  :)

Cheers. Doing lots of work on the thread today.

Won't bother adjusting all the prices until the offical release. Next up is Jake Lloyd.

Mr.Craig

#302
Jake Lloyd

Birthday - 20/9/93
180cm/72kg
North Ballarat
Price/Position - $97,300 Mid

Drafted - Pick 16 Rookie Draft Sydney

Lloyd had a superb season with the Rebels this year, being named in the best for 12 of 18 games and winning the TAC Cup Coaches Award. He's an inside/outside midfielder with excellent efficiency, good hands and pace. In 2012 he averaged 26.9 disposals, 10.6 handball receives and kicked 13.10.

There's only one word to describe Jake's DT scores this season - awesome! 94, 86, 78, 58, 153, 71, 104, 106, 123, 150, 156, 90, 150, 85, 130, 116, 98 and 34 (Ave: 104.5). He broke into the North Ballarat VFL side for a couple of games and was understandably less prolific, only managing scores of 28 and 33. To be fair he still has some work to do on his body but it's a shame he hasn't landed at a club which is more likely to give him early games. If he does make an appearance in 2013 give him a good look.

Beatson says: "Jake Lloyd was identified as the midfielder. He's got a 15-beep (test score) and is an extraordinarily hard runner, so we're excited that we were able to get Jake with our first selection in the rookie draft."

Rebels regional manager Phil Partington says: "Jake had an outstanding season as a 19 year old. He moved down from Horsham to give his footy a real go. His endurance and workrate are fantastic, he just keeps running all day. He never wastes a possession and is a good leader around the footy club. He also won the TAC Cup coaches award, which is a great achievement."

Jaryd Cachia

Birthday - 8/5/91
184cm/84kg
Norwood
Price/Position - $111,300 Mid

Drafted - Pick 9 Rookie Draft Carlton

This will be Cachia's second go around with Carlton after being on their rookie list between 2010 and 2011. This year he had a stellar season with eventual premiers Norwood in the SANFL and polled in the top 5 of the Magarey Medal. Jaryd also acted as the Redlegs' development officer in his time at the club.

His DT scores for 2012 were 47, 73, 41, 73, 40, 94, 65, 90, 95, 78, 108, 66, 99, 77, 42, 123, 75, 112 and 118 (Ave: 79.7). You would hope that Carlton aren't going to let him rot on the rookie list for another 2 years but it would be brave to predict any significant game time that would translate into a viable DT selection.

Rogers says: "It's great to give Jaryd another chance because he was one of the most diligent kids on our list. Norwood plays a lot of Friday night games, so we got to see him play a lot. I showed our coaches videos of him and they all agreed that he'd made big improvements. Hopefully, touch wood, and even though it was at a lesser level, he'll be able to do that back with us. I reckon that sometimes kids come in at 18 as a rookie, which Jaryd was, and it takes them two years to get into the swing of things and unfortunately for most of them they're out the door within two years. Jaryd has had 12 months away and got his confidence up. He finished in the top five in the Magarey Medal and fourth in Norwood's best and fairest, and we think he can have an impact as a big, strong-bodied midfielder. He's a ripping kid."

Brett Goodes

Birthday - 17/2/84
183cm/94kg
Williamstown
Fanplanner Price - $83,700

Drafted - Pick 4 Rookie Draft Western Bulldogs

Another member of the VFL Team Of The Year to receive a call up to the big leagues, the 28 year old brother of Adam Goodes joined Williamstown in 2011 after winning two premierships with North Ballarat and spending a year in the Northern Territory. He is one of the elite players in the VFL and is already familiar with the inner workings of the Bulldogs through his role as their Player Welfare Manager. Brett's wealth of football experience suggests he is well positioned to be a key contributor onfield during 2013.

His DT scores this season should please prospective coaches too - 93, 85, 51, 114, 82, 77, 45, 68, 64, 98, 103, 127, 68, 85, 119, 69, 57, 117, 98 and 97 (Ave: 85.8). There's certainly a long way to go but Goodes could prove to be the mature age success story of next year, both from a football and fantasy viewpoint.

Dalrymple says: "Although Brett is 28 years of age, we see his playing age as more like 25-26, given that he hasn't done 10 AFL pre-seasons. So we think he's got more longevity than it looks at face value. He has trained with the group over the last month and has taken his training, in terms of standard and intensity, to a level that it's never been to before. He came through all the testing with flying colours. He'll add to the group in a number of ways. He ha played really well at VFL level in all parts of the ground, and we see his kicking off half-back as a boost for the team. That's a role we're very confident he could play at AFL level. With his competitiveness he's also going to be great for the whole group because he will keep everyone honest."

Sam Dwyer

Birthday - 29/8/86
177cm/74kg
Port Melbourne
Price/Position - $89,300 Fwd/Mid

Drafted - Pick 28 Rookie Draft Collingwood

26 year old Dwyer from Port Melbourne is a former premiership player, best and fairest winner and member of the 2012 VFL Team Of The Year. The midfielder/forward had another excellent season and was ranked by Football Nation as the third best player in the competition. He started the year like a house on fire but his numbers decreased after a heavy knock in July. Three weeks later it was discovered Sam had been playing with a broken leg but amazingly he was still able to return for a couple of games in September.

Dwyer was named in the best on 9 occasions, kicking 20 goals and putting in DT scores of 113, 101, 84, 127, 107, 90, 119, 85, 106, 42, 84, 100, 91, 58, 0 and 48. If you remove the zero he averaged an impressive 90.3. As with fellow ball magnet Kyle Martin his Dream Team prospects have taken a hit thanks to his selection in the Collingwood team but Sam is another guy who is more than capable of being an excellent cash cow should he get a run of games.

Derek Hine says: Sam's been around for a while now. He's 26-years-old. He obviously has been on the cusp now for 2-3 years and we feel that we'd be able to bring in a little bit of pace, someone who would be able to hit the scoreboard, and can play some multiple roles particularly forward of centre. We see him as that wing-mid-forward role. All boys are really terrific characters and we're prepared to give them an opportunity and we're really confident that they're going to take that opportunity.

#308
Nathan Stark

Birthday - 19/7/94
177cm/70kg
Glenelg
Price/Position - $123,300 Mid

Drafted - Pick 3 Rookie Draft Melbourne

Stark is a lightly built midfielder who wins his possessions through footy smarts and courage rather than elite skills. He was one of the better performers for S.A in the Under 18 Champs this year, recording scores of 120, 66, 61, 68 and 63 for an average of 75.6. In the SANFL he dominated at U18 level and like many talented young players in S.A he was given the opportunity to develop his game in the reserves. Nathan dealt with the step up in intensity better than most and had a number of high disposal games. His scores for the year were...

Under 18's - 76, 75, 128, 121, 109 (Ave: 101.8)
Reserves - 77, 37, 57, 98, 45, 38, 88, 60 (Ave: 62.5)

Given that Couch was tearing up in the VFL last year and couldn't crack the Melbourne side I have my doubts about Stark getting much of a look in. If his form is strong enough he might warrant a post Round 11 elevation and sneak in a few games.

Viney says: "Played for South Australian in the under 18 National Championships. He played through the midfield averaging 20 possessions a game. He can play through the midfield or as a high half forward and provides forward pressure. He is the hardest runner from a spread perspective that we saw in the midfield. That work rate was the main thing that caught our eye allowing him to link up and get shots at goal. He played reserves for Glenelg and was outstanding in a few games."

Will Hams

Birthday - 14/7/94
180cm/70kg
Gippsland Power
Price/Position - $102,700 Def/Mid

Drafted - Pick 6 Pre Season Draft Essendon

A small midfielder, Hams had an interrupted 2011 due to a stress fracture and gladular fever which saw him drop 8kg. He rebounded in 2012 to perform strongly with the Power while also competing in the Champs where he scored 37, 46 and 51. In the TAC Will was named in the best 8 times, averaging 17.7 disposals and kicking 7.5. His scores for the season were as follows...

78, 38, 62, 69, 64, 80, 66, 79, 93, 98, 75, 69, 89, 54 and 99 (Ave: 74.2). Those numbers give an indication as to what you could expect from Hams, consistent but not flashy scoring. If he does make it on to the field in 2013 he's worth keeping an eye on due to his DPP status.

Dodoro says: "He's about a 180cm midfielder with a big engine; he's a really impressive young man with some excellent leadership skills. We trialled five or six boys, and he was the standout of them. He caught our eye during the course of the year; he's been coached by Nick Stevens, who we have a really good relationship with, and he'd been promoting him all year. We had considered him in the national draft â€" we rated him highly then â€" and he wasn't taken so we kept our fingers crossed he was a chance to be here in the pre-season draft."

Kyle Hartigan

Birthday - 11/7/91
193cm/89kg
Werribee
Price/Position - $101,300 Def

Drafted - Pick 14 Rookie Draft Adelaide

Another mature ager to be picked up in the rookie draft, Hartigan moved to Werribee a couple of seasons ago to enhance his prospects of getting an AFL call up and it's resulted in a selection by the Crows. A member of the first ever VFL Academy and graduate of the AFL-AIS Academy, he had a solid season in 2012, being named in the best for 5 of his last 7 games and at times putting in some decent numbers for a tall backman. His DT scores for the season were 79, 71, 47, 71, 27, 47, 93, 98, 38, 60, 49, 58, 55, 55, 50, 23, 58, 64, 67 and 32 (Ave: 57.1).

Apparently Hartigan was picked ahead of Daniel Talia in the 2009 Vic Metro team and you can probably expect some Talia-esque scores from Kyle if he gets an opportunity. That being said, if you find yourself desperate for a mid season downgrade in the backs he might be around to give you a hand.

Noble says: He's been a high performing key defender for Werribee over the last two years at VFL level. He played on a range of AFL guys, which was another aspect that attracted us to him, the way that he performed against guys in the AFL system. He's had to do it the hard way, missed out on the draft after being at the AIS as a 17-year-old and missed the draft as an 18-year-old, he's had to work his backside off to gain the interest of AFL clubs. A great young man with strong character, we think he can play next year.

#314
Mitch Clisby

Birthday - 5/1/90
181cm/70kg
North Adelaide
Price/Position - $89,300 Def

Drafted  - Pick 19 Rookie Draft Melbourne

22 year old Clisby is a lightly built half back who orginally hails from Broken Hill. He played Under 18's for New South Wales but was overlooked in the 2008 draft and made the decision to further his football development with North Adelaide in the SANFL. This year he averaged around 20 touches a game for the Roosters and was named in the best 10 times. His DT scores were reasonable but could've been vastly improved with some more tackling and marking...

46, 85, 48, 94, 65, 59, 38, 100, 69, 66, 83, 65, 69, 84, 82, 97, 83, 77, 26, 93, 109 and 95 (Ave: 74.2)

It's hard to say what his chances of an elevation are but he's shown the ability to be a consistent performer so is one to look at as a possible back downgrade during the season.

Viney says: "The 22-year-old played high level junior football and was involved in representative teams, but missed his opportunity. He is lightly framed but has played at North Adelaide for the last four years and he is very quick with electrifying speed. When watching North Adelaide you would all of a sudden see a blonde flash and think, 'Who was that?' He is a nice kick with 86 per cent efficiency and, matched with his speed and ability to break the lines, he is a good fit. He plays mainly off the wing and half back and had a good final for North Adelaide this year under the coaching of former Port Adelaide player Josh Francou."
