    Biggs gets the gig
    It was always going to be difficult for Shane Biggs to reassert his position on a HBF with Bob Murphy returning from injury, and he spent half the games before the bye last season in the VFL. A Murphy hamstring pull and then some positional moves meant he played all but one on the run home, staying in defence a lot more while others switched up the ground.
    The retirements of Murphy and Matthew Boyd mean Biggs is an incumbent for the Dogs, though the recruitment of Hayden Crozier represents a threat to his position, and with Matt Suckling leapfrogging him in metres gained in 2017, he doesn't have a lot of tricks in the bag. He can be a decent low-end starter when he's in the team, so watch him in the JLT to gauge his job security.
