A member of the 2017 All-Australian side, Michael Hibberd has struggled to replicate that form since his stunning debut year at Melbourne as defensive duties have crowded out his creative side. Following a disappointing prior twelve months, his stat line slipped further with a decline in disposal and tackle averages. Now the wrong side of thirty with two seasons of quiet form in a defensive structure that is not conducive to maximising his rebound work, Hibberd has fallen from lofty fantasy stardom. The former Bomber has shown little evidence that this is simply a form trough. Take him very late as a fanciful diamond in the rough punt. -

Massive Cat - IHateJeffB - 162 months ago • 3rd best. - Marcz - 162 months ago • Hibberd BOG last weekend in VFL. Come on Hirdy play him! - alex87 - 162 months ago • Anyone got news on this guy? Isn't on the injury list, so must be stuck in VFL I guess.. - Patrician - 163 months ago • haha. gotta Love Radioactiv's storys even if they are utter crap - Fenno - 163 months ago • Me and michael were best friends at school. He always had footy potential but not many people saw it in him. It was one cold day in bendigo when i was at the game and whistled as loud as i could and so people from all directions come rushing in to see what the fuss was all about. I told everyone it wasnt me, instead it was michael hibberd over there in the number 18 Guernsey so everyone looked at him. The ironic thing about this is one of those people was a talent scout so his eyes were glued on him for the rest of the game. After the game the scout was talking to Michael about he's potential and i will always remember the wink he gave me. - Radioactiv - 163 months ago • Hope so, as if I trade him to Curnow, I'll lose my DPP B/C link with Heppell, Goddard, Gibbs and Deledio in the backline. - BigV2011 - 163 months ago • I was disappointed he didn't get a run. He has round 2 to star on or he's traded for Edward Curnow. - AkIRA_22 - 163 months ago • Nah Hird says he will play round 2, but im not convinced holding onto a rookie who already injured. http://w.essendonfc.com.au/news/a/Heppell-to-debut-against-the-Bulldogs/8032 - Loose - 163 months ago • What's the story here? The rumour is he is out for 4-6 weeks, anyone got anything concrete? - dansmcd - 163 months ago • Talia is good but Hibberd is GUARANTEE games right from round 1 untill you trade him out. - mycool - 164 months ago • Is he a better pick the Talia - FIRESTORM - 165 months ago • apparently soo.? - snowman123 - 166 months ago • Will he get games in 2011? - migman19 - 166 months ago
