  • 2020 DT PRE-SEASON OUTLOOK (posted 28 Jan 2020)
    What a tough break, Jack
As with his first season at Port Adelaide, Jack Watts started season 2019 brightly with lots of preseason marks and an impressive round 1 performance in a win over his old side Melbourne, this time in his new role sweeping across half back. A very nasty leg bone and ankle break in round 2, however, cut short what had looked like a lucrative positional change. He was back on the training track before Christmas.
Watts looked like a million dollars drifting from a wing as a quarterback where he could seemingly intercept at will, a role made popular under the 6-6-6 rules but more often filled by midfielders whose aerial prowess was not as strong. If he can get his body right and regain the spring in his legs, that is a very sexy role to play. That is a big if, even if Jack Watts were not his name. He should rise through middle rounds with a flashy preseason.

Paul Roos has sounded out a new midfield role for Watts. - cashcow - 133 months ago
Goddard massive pickup :) Watts will probably play loose in defence but will play elsewhere too. Big year for the Dons if they stay fit. Won't be an easy team to beat - djmckf - 143 months ago
hey djmckf SC stands for silly cuestion. How about the Goddard pick up? Will Watts play an accountable or loose defender this year? - Sh00ter - 145 months ago
Would still be nice for ess to pick up such a player Ken.strike gaff off that list and add any other tough in and under midfielder coming out of contract if you want me to spell it out to you Ken. Geez. What a puppet? - djmckf - 149 months ago
I'm on a dreamteam website. Anyone got the SC scores? - djmckf - 149 months ago
@djmckf u puppet ,Gaff signed a two year deal with the eagles - KenOath - 149 months ago
you're on a super coach website and you don't know what SC stands for? - mackinaw - 149 months ago
I'm not sure what SC stands for? But Hurley will be a beauty. Still need a couple of midfielders down there shooter but think you can probably develop the guys you have now. Would be nice to pickup a gaff/caddy/boak and develop the some kids you already have. Premiership not far away for the Dons. not this year but better nextbyear and even better the one after that. They will be a great team. Not to mentinnyounFather son pickup up this draft.nice bit of luck. - djmckf - 149 months ago

Hey djmckf Kreuzer or Watts for SC? - Sh00ter - 154 months ago

watts is amzaing went to see melbourne vs GCS and was sitting right on the fence he was so close to me and I almost fainted, oh yeah and also went to see St.Kilda vs North Melb 4 rows of fence and Farran Ray was so close, I LOVE JACK WATTS AND FARRAN RAY - jwatts1 - 159 months ago
What a waste of money Gumby has been 5 years 22 games! Essendon will have to replace him in your spine and there is always the problem of your midfielders, you need a few of them to get the pill. Otherwise you will kill Watson ho is doing all the work. Watts will be a good player though, can't you see that? - djmckf - 159 months ago
The mandate was rebuild the spine djmckf (Gumby, Ryder, Pears, Hooker, Hurley). Hurley was a year older and had reped VIC at CHF and CHB. In one TAC game against Geelong he had 13 defensive rebounds in the first half from CHB and 6 goals from CHF in the second. He was certainly their no. 1 choice - Sh00ter - 160 months ago
Russo (you know nothing at all), KeesY (no we don't). Sh00ter (completely different players but if you think that ess would not have picked him up if they had pick one you to have no idea). The rest, those who would like to wait and see and those who think he will be a very good player, you are both spot on. Mark my words. this kid could be anything he would like to be. it is entirely up to him and the melb coaching staff. - djmckf - 161 months ago
Watts is starting to show some major promise in my opinion, his last month or so has been pretty impressive. And i mean give the kid a break, he still hasnt played a full season of AFL footy, 2012 may well be his coming of age as an AFL footballer. - Staggs - 161 months ago
What were they thinking? (Not Hurley!) - Sh00ter - 164 months ago
what have people heard on watts and what are your thoughts? - big_cox21 - 165 months ago
