Richmond had a lot of options on their list to solve the problem of how to support and then replace an injury-riddled Toby Nankervis, and the eventual solution was Ivan Soldo who played the second half of the season all the way to his first flag. His disposal rate did not reach double figures, meaning that even when used as lone ruck he struggled to breach the ruck baseline.Soldo looks to be the future of the Richmond ruck division, though that future is full of a lot of different jigsaw pieces like Nankervis and Noah Balta who will come in and out of the side as the coach's views on the team's needs change over time. Going into year four, his ceiling is just not high enough for fantasy interest, and the spectre of tandem roles looms over him too darkly. -
