After suiting up for ten games in two seasons at Fremantle and suffering from the dreaded go home factor, Harley Balic arrives back in Melbourne with a handful of impressive reserves games on his CV but not much to speak of from four senior appearances. Almost half of his average 13 disposals at AFL level were contested, though he had only 65% time on ground. His WAFL numbers were much more impressive, with 30 touches the norm.Balic has had practically zero continuity in his short career, so it's almost as if he's a mature-ager at this point. It is always tricky trying to evaluate the intangibles of a player's mind, so figuring out what Balic is going to become and whether he can cast aside last year's personal leave can only be gauged from afar. His JLT will be important as he needs confidence more than anything else. A speculative pick by the Dees, and you if you take the risk. -
