    Not the end for Mackenzie
    Just when it looked like 2014 best & fairest winner might be on the AFL scrapheap, a move forward by Jeremy McGovern opened up a senior spot which Eric Mackenzie took and held onto all the way to 2017 finals, where he saved the elimination final with a desperate defensive effort to force extra time and enable the win.
    There are no guarantees for Mackenzie as Will Schofield will want a spot again in 2018, and McGovern may return to defence with the forward structure filled out again after injuries thinned it out last year. His scoring can sometimes be barely startable, though not for long enough to warrant a fantasy roster spot.
