It was a fraught year for tall forwards at Adelaide, and Elliott Himmelberg was given his chance with senior selection from round 5 through 10. His first four games were wins, but he was dropped after his first goalless outing and appeared in the ones only once more all season. His game was the classic full forward interchanging in ruck, filling in for absences of Josh Jenkins.The good news for Himmelberg is that Jenkins was shipped off to Geelong in the off season. The bad news is that the Crows recruited Billy Frampton from Port, who is probably superior to Himmelberg in both forward and ruck play based on their trailing SANFL form lines. Then again, selection at Adelaide is often more about personalities than form. Avoid for now. -
