PLAYER DISCUSSION
• A high risk, high reward Supercoach prospect? Liberated from captaincy and maybe negative backline roles of 2012 - could he return to near 100 average or is age a factor? Almost indestructible from an injury point of view. Elite disposal and decision making (standing out at the Tiges for almost a decade!) can mean big scores from low possession games. Has $400K keeper potential. - gutrunner - 141 months ago |
• stupid gary chan jinx u by bringing u into his team. - freelancer - 160 months ago |
• He only strained it. - Disco DB - 160 months ago |
• He did his postirier cruciate ligament, which is usually a 4-6 week injury - strikes91 - 160 months ago |
• Anyone know whether his injury this week in round 18 against Geelong is serious enough for him to miss games, or will he be right to play in round 20? - FootyFan74 - 160 months ago |
• any mail on his injury? Wouldnt mind a full-strength backline to choose from... - Frankdagun - 175 months ago |
• he is in, requiring a consistant hundred every week considering he is 524,0 big price - toodledock - 177 months ago |
• Newman is more suited to SuperCoach rather than DT. - BigV - 180 months ago |
• I think Newman will get better, one of the few Tigers players I respect, just don't think Bowden has anything to do with it. - ossie85 - 183 months ago |
• ossie85 newman is getting better as the years go on and next year he will be able to step it up more because he will be playing bowdens role. He is such a great pick up - westhoff39 - 183 months ago |
• BigV the stats this year don't back you up. In 2009, with Bowden in the team Newman averages 81.6 in DT and 103 in SC. Without Bowden Newman averages 81.6 in DT (coincidentally the same) and 95.1 in SC. Still might select him though! Consistent - ossie85 - 183 months ago |
• With Joel Bowden retired, Newman will improve his average in Dream Team next season and will score heavily in SuperCoach. A must-have. - BigV - 183 months ago |
• Because SC are BS for validation of this just check freo's SC totals in the games where they got smashed - way too high - tom_scully - 184 months ago |
• Decent player. Played very efficiently against the dee's, but definately not worth 133 SC points. Chapman's 6 goal match winning B.O.G effort got 143 SC (kicking crucial goals in the last qtr which won the game mind you). Definately ridiculous.
Makes me think twice about doing super coach next year. - The3rd - 184 months ago |
• watched a replay of the game last night and he barely went near it in the last quarter - hairydog84 - 184 months ago |
• he is a player that is worthy of the club he is in. - hairydog84 - 184 months ago |
• How did Newman scored 62 points in DT and 133 points in SC? - BigV - 184 months ago |
• Well done hairydog84...did u require a calculator to work that out?...if you knew anything about football hairydog84, you would know its all about quality, not quantity of possession. Newman is a rock solid defender with great disposal. - migman19 - 184 months ago |
• he had 9 kicks and 11 handballs thats 2.25 kicks and 2.75 handballs a quarter he deserves a spud thats about it - hairydog84 - 184 months ago |
• LOL what a moron. Haorydog apart from eff disposals and all SC also rewards you if you play well while the game is there to be won - Alex7089 - 184 months ago |
