TAGS (life club position role style health) (FF #2044) 2017 DT PRE-SEASON OUTLOOK (posted 20 Jan 2017) Suck it and see on Swallow
A late start to his 2016 preseason after surgery on both knees led to Andrew Swallow posting his worst numbers since his breakout in 2009, almost dropping under 20 touches per game. Of the top 50 contested players in the league, he had the worst metres gained (182), with most of the blame attributable to a sharp shift towards handballing with three out of every five touches now by hand. He did not kick a goal last season either. The knee issues are going to follow Swallow throughout the rest of his career, so the question for fantasy coaches is whether he can claw back the 20 points of production he has lost since his 2012 peak. Perhaps stepping down from the captaincy in the off season will reinvigorate his game with the pressure eased. A slight uptick back to the 90s of the previous couple of seasons seems more likely, implying a middle round pick. -

PLAYER DISCUSSION • Had 8 disposals for the day, 5 of them were clangers. (Some of them might have directly resulted in a goal to the opposition), had 3 FA's as well. - ^loser - 139 months ago • How did he score -11 in round 18 2007? - aussie - 139 months ago • Too inconsistent and cant be relied upon in the big games. Upgrade to Swan or feel the pain! - gigi85 - 161 months ago • Should be getting consecutive 100's in DT by the end of the year and throughout the whole of next year. Go Swallow! - julza34 - 162 months ago • That makes sense then. - vanleeuwen - 162 months ago • It's not the average, it's just a guess at his score this week against the Suns. - Sergian - 162 months ago • who makes those ridiculous guru projections on the FF homepage? there is no way swallow is going to average 142... - vanleeuwen - 162 months ago • So he comes out and scores 193 - you little rippa Spitta! - roo boys! - 162 months ago • C'mon Swallow pick up your game. No doubt would be in brownlow contention if playing in a top 4 side. - gbale3 - 164 months ago • Still thinking bout it. Hope both perform well, just be too hard with byes and that, kinda like swan and pendles. will prob wait till NAB cup to decide - Judd_Dog5 - 166 months ago • Swallow will average more, but Anthony is better value, shame you can't have both - Swallow12 - 166 months ago • Swallow or Anthony, which roo will show more this year??? - Judd_Dog5 - 166 months ago • suspect GC - $wish - 173 months ago • Jump on.
