With neither side having much to play for apart from avoiding a win to keep their hopes of priority picks alive, Essendon looked like the only side interested in this game, easing out to a big lead before Collingwood made up some of the difference in garbage time. A distinctly underwhelming affair which only underlined how ordinary these sides have been this year.
