Hello, I have just moved to England have have just come across this forum.
If you can Rate my side it would help me on the other side of the world  :) Thanks.

DEF: S.Burgoyne, H.Shaw, S.Hurn, J.Newnes, M.Scharenberg, J.Kolodjashnij, M.Karpany, H.Goddard
Not too sure about the rookie priced player pool in this line. Haven't heard how Sharenberg is recovering. Also considering  S.Siggins at the rookie price here.

MID: G.Ablett, N.Fyfe, S.Sidebottom, J.Redden, B.Crouch, J. De Goey, N.Cockatoo, A.Vandenberg, B.Broekhurst, J.Laverde, M.Dick
This line may appear a bit risky especially with Redden and Crouch but I believe they will both play most of the time, won't get tagged and will avg around 100-105. Sidebottom for a POD.

RUC: S.Jacobs, M.Luenberger, M.King
Haven't seen many use the best ruckman in the game. It will either be Luenberger of Kruezer for P2 depending on which shapes up better in the NAB challenge. I have no idea who is a good cheap 3rd ruck. Like to use Hannath/Grffen. Not enough coin

FWD: B.Deledio, B.Goddard, H.Bennell, T.Mitchell, M.Clark, J.Hogan, T.Lamb, N.Krakouer
Seems like many are going with the same players in the line so decided to throw in Bennell for something different. Mitchell seems to bit fit again and should avg 100-110 i think.

Remaining: $9,500

So that is my 1st attempt this season. I haven't yet considered bye structure. Hopefullly I can do better than the 3,660 from last year.

Thanks for rating my supercoach

I don't expect Sharenberg to play the first half of the season.  Word is his rehab is going well, but the Pies view him as 200+ game player, they won't be taking any risks with him, so I'd be surprised if he's back playing VFL in the first half of the season, let alone AFL.  I like Sidebottom as a POD, he's been training the house down and would be expecting him to continue the upward trend he started last year especially with more midfield minutes available due to the Beams departure.

Big Mac

Hi mate, welcome to the forums.
Defence looks good, you can worry about rookies later.
Midfield also has a solid structure, although I'm not sure about the Redden/Crouch picks. You said it yourself that they will probably only average 100-105, so you're still going to need to trade them out later for someone averaging about 115 (i.e. a top 10 mid).
Rucks look good, most have decided on Goldstein and/or Naitanui but if you think Jacobs can back it up then he's a good pick as well. Most have a dpp Fwd/Ruc player on their ruck bench as it doesn't look like there will be any rookie rucks this year. This allows teams to then have Bellchambers in the forward line and have him also cover the ruck line. I'd suggest bringing him in for Mitchell.

AntG87

Thanks Maggie, Thats good info on Scharenberg. I will keep him in mind for later on in the season.

Big Mac, Thats a brilliant Idea to solve the lack of ruck rookies with Belchambers in FWD line as dpp. He sems the best to use but I am not confident on his scoring ability. So what is your thoughts on using Callum Sinclair or maybe Jack Hannath, if they play, instead?
Upon reflection both Redden and B.Crouch in the same side is a little too risky. But I still think one of them is worth going with. Even if they avg 105ish they could be a keeper all season. I finished 3660th last season and the worst mid i had at the end was Marc Murphy with an avg of 106. So i still think at least on of them could work.

Thanks for the feed back guy it is much appreciated.
Please leave a link to your sides if you have posted them so I can leave a comment if you wish  :)

This is a very strong team to start of with.
What I would do is this.
Jacobs>Nic Nat
and then upgrade your least favourite out of Crouch/Redden to a Pendles/Selwood.
Do you think you need ruck cover so would look at a straight swap of Mitchell to Belly.

Swanny_22

Backs- Few unique picks like Burgoyne and Hurn, if you can get cash id upgrade to B.Smith as i think he will have a massive year but otherwise good solid backline. Obviously rookies will come into picture later on but Scharenberg will most likely miss a fair bit, maybe go Whitecross as he should play.

Mids- Really like this Midfield, its very strong and i like the look of Crouch and Redden. I think De Goey is going to make a big impression as reports are suggesting. Good work!

Rucks- Like the rucks and am a big fan of Jacobs, i think you should use someone like Read or Cox as r3 as they are dpp and go bellchambers in the forward line for cover.

Forwards- Great forward line. I think swap Mitchell to Bellchambers and look to up grade Bennell to maybe Swan or Gray.

Really good team, goodluck for the year

Great stuff guys......very constructive feedback....Although only one thing I dis-agree with is Tom Mitchell......IMO he will go off this season.

So with your feedback I have made a few changes:

DEF: S.Burgoyne, B.Smith, H.Shaw, J.Newnes, M.Karpany, H.Goddard, J.Kolodjashij, S.Siggins
Only minor changes here. A bit of extra coin for Hurn---->Smith and a sight change in the rookies

MID: N.Fyfe, J.Selwood, S.Sidebottom, M.Priddis, B.Crouch, J. De Goey, N.Cockatoo, B.Boekhurst, A.Vandenberg, J.Laverde, M.Dick
Yes! no Ablett. I have had some success not using him initially for the last couple of seasons. I needed a bit of coin but still have 4 good players and a player who IMO will bust through that 100+ avg
Main changes Ablett & Redden out and Selwood and Priddis in

RUC: S.Jacobs, N.Naitanui, M.Cox
Good advice on the Bellchambers DPP. Extra coin from no ablett allows Leuenberger----> Naitanui

FWD: B.Deledio, B.Goddard, H.Bennell, T.Mitchell, T.Bellchambers, M.Clark, J.Hogan, T.Lamb, N.Krakouer
Kept Mitchell, and Bennell... See how they tack in the NAB challenge

I think this is an improvement. No doubt some of you would prefer the 1st team.
Thanks again for your feedback!  :) :) :)

Good looking team,  Ant.    Welcome the site.  Great site with lots of helpful footy tragics.   I am based in Panama and time difference is a bummer for watching games and loopholes.

Not sure you can iive without GAJ and Pendles.  Possibly one but both?
Like both Bennell and T Mitch just cant see starting with both.   Hope Tmitch breaks out I had him all last season. Upgrade one of them.   Ruck strategy with no Bellc is fine just means using trades to cover injuries or outs.

Have a great season.

Defence: Keep it like that until nab!
Midfield: Downgrade belly to have enough cash to go sidey+pridda to gaz and pendles.
rucks: guns lock and load.
fwd: Swan over mitchell....

nice stuff though!

great team really think you need one of Ablett and Pendles and also Swan in the forward line.

Also think you have an extra forward?

would love your thoughts on my side.

I think Burgoyne is overpriced, I see him dropping back down to an 85 average. Save the money and get a cheaper option who wil average similar.

Mids: I don't see any upside in Priddis, and I don't see him as a must have, so I think there are much better options. Ward?

Rucks: Jacobs is priced at the top of his game, but if you like him, why not. Nice reliability.

Forwards: byes are a real issue here. You just can't have BJ, Bennell, Swan and Belly. One has to go. I'd go for a Dusty or a Walters, depending on who goes. (**and just now I noticed you have 9 forwards**)

AntG87

^ ah yes. Well picked up. I love to tell you who is not supposed to be in that side but it seems like I haven't saved my last team.....Sorry for that DERP moment.
I will have a play around and maybe post another side soon.
Thanks for you feedback peoples :)

AntG87

I have finally come up with a structure and personnel that  am mostly happy with. I will sit on this until the NAB Challenge

BACKS: B.Smith, H.Shaw, J,Newnes, B.Waters, S.Siggins, J.Kolodjashnij, H.Goddard, O.McDonald
Yes i know this line is a bit weak. I am hoping I can get a decent avg from Newnes and Waters and make money off the rest with a mind to upgrading when the best backmen, by average, becomes clearer.

MIDS: S.Pendlebury, N.Fyfe, J.Selwood, J.Watson, D.Prestia, N.Van Berlo, J. De Goey, A.Vandenberg, M.Dick, N.Freeman, N.Krakouer.
I have been critical of NVB but you guys have convinced me!!! Prestia for something different. I like the 4 premo and 1 premo/mid pricer structure. If the worst of those 5 averages 105 then I am happy to keep them all season.

RUCKS: S.Jacobs, N.Naitanui, M.Cox
I am not too sure about the durability of Kruezer and Luenberger. They seem a bit risky so I have gone with the set and forget options here.

FWD: B.Goddard, P.Ryder, L.Franklin, T.Mitchell, M.Clark, J.Hogan, J.Laverde, K.Harper
Again this line looks a bit weak but I have great confidence in Titchell. I believe he will be in the swannies best 22 and if that is the case he is a lock. Ryder for something different. Potentially will avg better than last year. Rather have him than Bellchambers, who along with Swan, I don't fancy much this season.

Cash remaining: $4,000

So that is it, hopefully no more changes for  a month or so.
Good luck every one.

Money Shot

I understand that you are going weak down back as I am too so can't fault there.
Love the midfield and rucks also.
Forward line I think is a bit to weak.
Although Mitchell is a great pick with players like Gray, Delidio, Franklin, Goddard, Martin and Swan this year I doubt he will be a keeper.
Ryder I don't like either and although he is a ruck as well he in my opinion is costing you 10 points each week.

What I would do is go Jacobs>Goldy which Will give you some money and then although you don't want to Mitchell>Swan and I would get rid of Ryder and get Lids in.

Don't really need ruck cover in that line as you can always trade if needed. (I know there are always benefits of it but I think in this case you are risking your teams scoring capabilities for a "what if"

Would love your thoughts on my team.

Better looking team ant.

Backs Good set up and trade up when cheski and others come down in price
Centres:  really like your setup  prestia is a great POD
Rucks  would trade down jacobs to goldy to save some cash
Fwds: Personnaly couldnt go Ryder and definitely dont see him improving on last year.   Like Tmitch and Bennell as PODs and value

AppreciatennYour thoughts on my team
