Wake up Maggie I think I got something to say to you ! (Couldn't resist, one of my favorites.)

Team no 2 for me.
Some nice pods, Bartel, Bennell and Sidebottom.
I like the pick of Sidebottom, would have him myself if it wasn't for that damned round 12 bye.
Solid team. Good luck.

Thanks Creeker.  Word out of the Pies has been Sidebottom has been training the house down, and as a Pies supporter I'd expect him to take Beams' place in the midfield which bodes well for his scores.

Sidebottom is such a different player to beams, Adams would be the ideal replacement very similar.
Adding, when was the last time sidebottom didn't kill a preseason? He wins our TT ever year!

Adams is more a replacement for Ball rather than Beams.  And this year Sidebottom is also performing well in match simulations and skills works, not just the TT, although he has always been one of our more fitter players.  In regards to the Beams replacement, I was referring to his position in the pecking order for our midfield, although Sidebottom is a better two way runner than Beams.

Levi/J.Thomas are the ball replacements. Adams has speed and breaks the lines. Beams wasn't a flash kick at the start of his career similar to Adams now... Exact same players. Whether Adams is as good remains to be seen.
FE, Pendles, Swan, Sidey, Greenwood, Adams would be the way it stands ATM. Sidebottom can't really play inside/outside, if he could he could probably exceed Ablett as you said his 2 way running is elite.

Clearly team 2 for me.

I wouldn't start with Bartel though, maybe look to other DPP Fwd/Mids there.

Thanks for all the feeback.  Do you know what I love and hate about this time of year in SuperCoach. It is being able to constantly play with my team. However I kind of like this latest attempt. It started out as a Guns 'n' Rookies strategy, though has ended up with two mid pricers.  There are 13 keepers including 6 Ultra Premiums, but the team relies on 7 onfield rookies.

Def: B. Smith, H. Shaw, L. Hodge, G. Ibbotson, M. Fuller, H. Goddard (H. Wigg, E. Vickers-Willis)
Mid: G. Ablett, S. Pendlebury, J. Selwood, R. Sloane, S. Sidebottom, C. Petracca, I. Heeney, A. Vandenberg (N. Freeman, T. Dumont, L. Dawson)
Ruc: S. Jacobs, N. Naitinui (M. Cox)
Fwd: B. Deledio, H. Bennell, D Swan, T. Bellchambers, P. Karnezis, J. Hogan (J. Finlayson, J.Steele)
Cash Left: $13,500
Byes: 8/12/10 although as the rookies are place holders this will change.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Not a bad looking team.

DEF: I think this line looks best when there are 4 keepers and Waters so I would upgrade Ibbotson to a keeper and a rookie to Waters. I don't think Ibbo is a great pick as he has had just one good SC season and is injury prone. Waters is obviously very injury prone too but has shown that he can score consistently well in SC.

MID: Love the look of your midfield. Sidey is a great POD and should end up averaging as well as the top mids this year.

RUC: I would downgrade Jacobs to Leuey or Kruezer. They have too much value to pass up. Then use the cash saved to bolster either your backline or forward line. Nic Nat is a great pick.

FWD: I like all your Premo picks and Belly is a must but it does look a bit weak with no Goddard and Belly at F4. You may not be able to do an upgrade here though if you were to upgrade your backline so I would choose one line or the other to upgrade with the cash saved by downgrading Jacobs.

8/10

Definitely Team 2 for me.
Midfield....That is where most of the score comes from in this game. Take that midfield and a mid priced risk on both fwd line and def line to make a bit of coin and if that happens your laughing.

This team has a perfect structure.
sit on it to NAB cup.

My first team after the formal opening of SuperCoach 2015.

Def: Birchall, Taylor, Newnes, Ibbotson, Whitecross, Brown (Wigg, Viojo-Rainbow)
Mid: Ablett, Pendlebury, Sloane, Sidebottom, Wines, De Goey, Vandenberg, Freeman (Dumont, Steele, Stretch)
Ruc: Naitinui, Leuenberger (Read)
Fwd: Deledio, Ryder, Swan, Ziebell, Mitchell, Hogan (Markworth, Krakeour)
Cash Left $1.2k

This would give me 14 keepers (I view all players over $400k as keepers (or they should be to get a guernsey in my team). All players valued at De Goey or below are place fillers currently and are pending NAB Cup form and round 1 selection. I'm also not looking at byes too closely at this stage as my finalised rookies will effect this.

I have also purposely avoided selecting any Bombers players as they revealed on the H.S live chat that there is no allowance from SC regarding sanctions for the Bombers players.

But you have selected Ryder?

But you have selected Ryder?
You're right.  I'd forgotten that he's still tied up with the ASADA stuff (not sure how, I've been sick this week and all the focus is on the Bombers so...).  Not sure what I'll do re ruck coverage if both he and Bellchambers are out, as I don't know enough about the other options to have any real confidence.  I may wind up swapping Ryder for a Martin or Bennell & changing Read to someone like Nankervis.  Still Ryder at $550k is much easier to replace than Bellchambers at $300k, so I'll probably leave him until at clod to the start of the season.

My latest team:
Def: Shaw, Hodge, Jaensch, Birchall, Newnes, Goddard (Viojo-Rainbow, Maynard)
Mid: Ablett, Pendlebury, Selwood, Sloane, Van Berlo, De Goey, Cockatoo, Freeman (Boekhorst, Steele, Krakouer)
Ruc: Jacobs, Naitinui (Cox)
Fwd: Gray, Goddard, Swan, Salem, Clark, Hogan (Daniel, Lambert)
Cash Left: $600
Byes - Def: 4/3/1, Mid: 3/4/4, Ruc: 1/1/1, Fwd: 2/2/4; Overall 10/10/10

Using a GNR strategy, this gives me 14 keepers and 8 starting rookies (including Van Berlo who is rookie priced). As always, Rookes (Van Berlo priced and below) are place fillers, and I have deliberately put a couple of expensive ones in to give myself flexibility to pick the expensive ones if they turnout to be the must haves.

Ringo

I would just sit on that team now MM. Players well suited to structure you are going with, Just what Birchall with current injury but a few players around that price available.

Maggie May

Is this team too risky?

Def: Shaw, Newnes, Lumumba, Kolodjasjni, Goodes, McIntosh (Hamling, Saad)
Mid: Ablett, Pendlebury, Fyfe, Selwood, Wines, Anderson, Vandenberg, Ellis-Yolmen (Heeney, Miller, Lambert)
Ruc: Jacobs, Mumford (Cox)
Fwd: Gray, Bennell, Swan, Salem, Clark, Karnezis (Lamb, Lonie)
Cash left $64k

My mids and rucks are strong, but I have 3 starting rookie forwards, and some mid price, risky players in defence. One option Could be to turn Ablett & Mumford into Dangerfield & Goldstein and then turn Goodes into someone like Simpson or one of the Hawk defenders (though this would leave me about $3-$10k left int he bank).

Any feedback greatly appreciated.

Locinator

Don't rate Kolodjasini in all honesty, I think he is likely to fall victim to the second year blues and if not Malceski will be taking too many of his points. 64k doesn't get you up to any great players so I would consider downgrading Gray to a Deledio/Goddard type. My reasoning behind this is I believe Deledio or Goddard will match Gray for 40/50k less and it will get your cash leftovers to around 100k which can get you up to a Birchall or Hurn. If you back Kolodjasini then by all means go for it, I just don't see him anywhere near the top 10 backs.

In the mids, I reckon for around the same price Danger or Griffin will outscore Wines, again another personal preference. Apart from that very strong mids, I see those four premiums being the top 4 come seasons end.

Unsure about Mumford in all honesty. Sure he has a soft draw early but I think the ruck changes will drag him down. In addition to this, his risk of suspension is too great of a risk to take with no cover. If you really back him you need a Lycett or Bellchambers in the forwards to cover him or you will be copping zeroes. You could go Mumford down to Goldstein, Maric or Naitanui to make some extra cash to upgrade Kolodjasini if you wanted.

Forwards are looking solid, I'm not starting Gray just because I don't have the cash but he is a great pick.

Good Luck!
