Defenders will be the hardest position to pick this year and I just wanted to see who everyone is thinking of for there premium picks.
I for one am considering Shaw, Hibberd, Smith, Walker and Birchall in that order with Simpson, Hurn, Hodge and a few others also in the back of my mind.

Would just like to know everyones thoughts on who too and not too pick this year.
cheers MS

Not discussing players under 450k as I don't see them as premiums and more expensive midpricers.

Love Howe, Hurley and Hurn as pods. Probably my D3 main options

Money Shot

I am going 3 premiums this year so at the moment
Heater and Hibberd are locks and I might go for a POD as my third or go more main stream with Smith.

Hurn is a great pick, unfortunately I don't know if you can trust his body.

Shaw and Simmo are probably the two I would probably look at starting with and then load up on cheaper guys

RaisyDaisy

I'm starting 4

Simpson, Smith, Hibberd and Hurn

Hurn is slightly underpriced, and I've actually never picked him before but I'm banking on his price and new captaincy to make him a worthy pick for me

The other 3 should be Top 10 defenders for sure. Heath Shaw is the other guy I am considering and I'm not really interested in any of the Hawks

Money Shot

Smith, Shaw and Hibberd are looking like the standard picks!

Not much love for Malceski or K.Simpson, are they just price prohibitive?

Malcheski is going to a new club so we aren't sure how it will effect him!
Simpson burnt a lot of people last year with his inconsistency.
So Alot of people are thinking there are better options for better prices!

Yeah, I guess we can't know if he will just hit the ground running, and at that price it's a risk.
I didn't own K.Simpson last year, but definitely noticed the couple of shockers he put in.

Money Shot

Still would be good picks!
I am strongly considering Simpson but Malcheski is to expensive for me!

Guns/Rooks doesn't work on defence. Rooks don't get as many games and if you're dropping 500k on a plaer it's better spent on a midfielder that can go bang, rather than a player like Simpson that farts a squeaky one at best.

Mid pricer strategy in the backs all the way.

I'm going with 3 premiums 2 mid pricers and 3 rookies
You think that could work well?

I am looking at the same structure 3/2/3.

Defenders is where shower hits the fan each year. Premos don't stay premo, rooks just never seem to string games. And even solid players can't be banked because when coaches have mood swings its in the backs where you get flowered by it.

Don't go in structure first, player second with the backs IMO. Identify roles and back your research. Defence is the only position where research gives you and edge. Midfield is just a cheaters paradise and forwards have been turned in to Mids Lite.
