The man who turned 24 nine days ago. Ready to become the #1 defender in all the land.

Waters is the yo yo. Since 07 - bang, twang, bang, twang, bang, double twang. I don't have the melons to pick a bang year unless he has a huge pre season.
Double bang this year then?

I'll be picking him. I've got my eye on another midpricer who's hardly been mentioned as yet.

Grimes happen to be one of them Ringo  ;)  ;)

Haha, probably, I'm not gonna look.  Either him or Hurley or Watts.

Yerp. He'll probably do his hamstring 8 minutes into the 1st quarter of round 1 if you pick him.

Brent Reilly (depending on what role he plays)
For the SANFL?  ;)

What are people's thoughts on McKenzie.... Traditionally he has been tagged because of his run and penetrating kick off the half backline but will the addition of Malceski take some focus of off 'the cannon'? Has reached the magical 70 AFL games(76) and is yet to complete a full preseason. Any news on how this preseason is travelling?

he could be a good pick but people are thinking he wont do as much rebounding with Malceski coming in and may get a more lock down job but i think it's more likely Malceski will do the shut down jobs

malceski couldn't shut down to save his life... Most likely thing to happen would be one on the wing the other playing half back.
Possibility of McKenzie as a 4rth tall up forward as a True CHF/HF... Day, Dixon, Lynch and the cannon. McKenzie would be suited to it setting up the play along there and Eade said there will be surprises.

kilbluff1985

yeah i just think McKenzie is to lethal to be used as a lock down player

fasttrack13

He sort of played that 3rd defender tall this year, still got a fair bit of the pill and was still lethal for them. Only really a problem for supercoach. Nab cup will be a good gage! He has the capacity to play midfield/wing i really hop he gets that chance...

Waters is probably my favourite ever player. He has a big year, than a shocker the next so he is nice and cheap, than he goes big again.

Hoping the trend continues, I wouldn't be surprised to get a 90+ season out of him or at least half a season than straight swap him to a premo.

I would love to see him cruising up and down a wing in a similar role to Issacc Smith.....!

Mat0369

They didn't free Cannon up as much last season and he was doing those shutdown roles as the 3rd tall, part of that was the introduction of Kade Kolo and the fact Seb Tape who had been playing that role was injured most of the season. I want to see how Rocket uses him before I look into it any further, the fact Gold Coast don't really have that good 3rd tall defender forces him to be more accountable otherwise he would probably play loose and kill it scoring wise due to his penetrating boot
