it really depends what you do with the spare cash

but i feel you're better off going cheap in your forward line as there are lots of bargains
Too many 100+ fwd starting locks to go too cheap there KB.
My initial thoughts are to gamble with def as to know which will end up keepers is more difficult.
I am thinking in def - 2 locks , 3 bargain  money makers, 3 rooks.
I agree with GM here there are a lot of people stacking up because there isn't many good rookies at the moment but I think I will go:
3 premiums, 2 mid pricers, 3 rookies that only leaves 1 rookie that we need to play every week and Goddard should easily do that in my opinion.

Backline is looking a lot weaker for options next year will probably pick 2 of the better ones and have a stab at a couple of cheaper blokes hoping they can do what Jaensch did this year
+1 Shaker..
Spending your money on 100+ premo locks should get you off to a flyer 8)

Yep GM spending the cash on premo mid and forwards looks like it is the way to go at this stage but to far off to say for sure , a lack of rookies that look like starting and having good JS can flower everyone's team a few days before it starts haha  :P

 ???
Risking two in the hope of one coming good. B Smith,  Hibberd,  Waters,  Ibbottson and 4 rookies. Prem forwards and mids will ave more than defenders hence defence last and least important.    :)

Spot on GM.  The more defence rookies named the better. I'd be more than happy to fill my ruck and forward line with prems, go 4 / 7   or    5 / 6  prem / rookies in the guts   then whatever up back.  All thre best mate.   ;)

Its a lose lose.

Load up on premos there because there arent any rookies. (Are there any premiums either?)

Load up on rookies because the better premiums are elsewhere. (Are there any decent rookies?)

Will be interesting to see what pans out as the better strategy.

Personally ill be taking a punt on some cheaper mid-pricers, they only meed to go 90+ to be a keeper. As long as they go 80+, they wont be losing that many points either.

Sure the better mid-pricers are up forward, plenty I can see going 90+, but that isnt good enough when the top 10 will be 100+ scorers.

I think I will go 3 premiums 2 cheaper md pricers Waters and Whitex (whitex could be considered a rookie price) and then hope 3 decent rookies pop up.

At this stage, based on the rookies available and what we know about them so far I think you need to be starting at least 3 premium defenders

Personally I have got 4 premo' at the moment, but I think 3 plus a breakout candidate (Newnes, Yeo, Seedsman) then Waters and Whitecross is solid, and should be popular

Also, FWIW, Harry Taylor averaged ~93 from last 11 games, priced at 446k.

Smoky choice?
Shhhhh I'm considering him strongly  8)
+1 and he is currently in my team.  Nice price and should be a keeper. Can put in the occasional stinker though,

Apparently he's dropped 4kg over the summer and hired a personal running coach....... Will be watching closely

3 premos, a breakout candidate D4 and the D5/D6 combo of Waters and Whitex is what I'm looking at.

Depending on D4 could become Ibbo at a cheapish price to spend more elsewhere.

With all the cheaper options this year I am starting to belive you could almost make a 0 premium defence team work although I wont have the balls to try it :P

I think I am going to go 3/2/3 with the premium/mid price/ rookie (Waters and Whitex are shaping up as my mid pricers)
