First team for the season, trying to improve on 69th last year...

Def: B.Smith, Hibberd, Newnes (D/M), Waters, Whitecross, Moore (D/F), [N.Brown, Dick].

Mids: Ablett, Pendlebury, Heppell, Griffen, Steven, Wells, Van Berlo, Brayshaw, [Heeney, Freeman, Lambert (M/F)].

Rucks: Goldstein, Naitanui, [Lobb]

Fwds: Deledio (M/F), Bennell (M/F), Swan (M/F), Petracca (M/F), Clark, Hogan, [Goddard (D/F), Steele (M/F)].

Bank: $21,390

Newnes to go 90+, Griffen to get back to 110+, Steven to go 105+, Wells to get back to 95+ and make wuick money, Bennell to go 100+ for the first time and Swan will get back to 105+ at the very least imo..

quinny88

Understand the lack of confidence in defenders but I still think you need more than 1 premo down there.
Zorko in the fwd line my only other concern. Got his good share of mid time with all of Brisbanes injuries this year but next year will be back to the forward line as a dangerous, tackling small forward

ben_020285

I agree with Quinny with regards to your backline. I think 3 premos down there will be par for starting teams. I'd keep Hibberd and Newnes but get rid of Yeo and Gilbert for a premo and a rookie.

With your MIDS, can you see all 5 of them averaging 115 or more next year? If the answer is yes then keep them, if not then get rid of the ones that you are not sure about.

Your rucks are strong. Nice set and forget combo with R/F link on the bench.

Your fwd line looks good but you have that R/F link in the ruck but no way of using it in your fwd line. I would trade out Zorko for Bellchambers here as you need that link in case Goldy or Nic Nat go down for a week or two. Zorko's role is very unknown with all the mids that the Lions have added during the trade period and will get back from injury.

Hoggyz_a_legend

Thanks for the advice on Zorko. Totally makes sense, not sure why I didn't think of it. Brisbane will be a massive force to be reckoned with this year.

So I've updated the OP.

Essentially swapped Yeo/Gilbert/Cotchin/Lang/Cox/Zorko for Smith/Moore/Griffen/Wells/Lobb/Petracca.

Griffen won't get AS much attention at GWS with their quality mids so should get back to 110+. Wells is in the same boat and is coming off an injury interupted year and can make a very quick $100k if he shows his potential, or could turn into a late season trade if he scores well enough. Lobb should get more game time with No Patton or Boyd.

I love to see that you have great rookie priced players.
Great changes. Would love to still see Cotchin in there though.
Also need ruck cover.
Apart from that it's a great team and love the picks.
Could you rate my team.

I actually love this team good amount of pods but still structurally great can't really fault!
Would love your thoughts on my team.

fasttrack13

Would consider Maric to Nicnat and Bennell to Buddy... Just think there's more points on offer there but as MS said pretty damn good!

Great looking team with a few excellent PODs.  Early points with NRoo, keepers in lids, Swan and HB (?) maybe.  Great Ruck set up but at risk of coverage.   Still easy to trade from Maric/Gold to other prem ruck.

#9
Gone with a 5 premo mids with 3 high-rookie-priced players, and 2 mid-priced defenders in this version...

Defs: B.Smith, M.Hibberd, J.Newnes (D/M), S.Gilbert, B.Waters, S.Edwards, [M.Dick (D/M), Z.Cordy]

Mids: G.Ablett, S.Pendlebury, C.Ward, T.Liberatore, D.Heppell, N.Van Berlo, P.Cripps, S.Biggs, [I.Heeney, J.Laverde, N.Freeman]

Rucks: S.Jacobs, N.Naitanui, [M.Cox (R/F)]

Fwds: B.Deledio (M/F), H.Bennell (M/F), D.Swan (M/F), C.Salem, M.Clark, J.Hogan, [C.Daniel, K.Lambert (M/F)]

Bank: $10,100.

Forward line is by far the weakest line, but Salem and Clark should avg 70ish and Hogan and Daniel should all avg 60ish if given games.

I see Ward and Liberatore pushing 120 this season. Libba only needs to avg 2-3 more effective disposals a game to push that, and Ward should avoid the tag with Griffen coming in. Cripps and Biggs will see way more action this year, hopefully avoid the vests and avg 70+. Van Berlo has JS and should avg 65-80 which is very handy from someone so cheap with 100% JS.

In defense, I think Smith and Hibberd will go 95+, Newnes is my breakout choice to go 90-95, and if fit, Gilbert and Waters can comfortably avg 75+.

Thoughts?

it looks to me like you are missing a defender?
But I will rate the team anyways.
First of all I am going weak down back as there is less 'premium' choices than up forward but then again I do see where you are coming from going weak forward.

Can't really fault that line pretty standard (apart from the missing defender ::))
I actually love this midfield as it is unique, Love the first 5 picks. And the amount of money spent on your rookies is good to as you can downgrade closer to when the season starts.
Rucks are The best they possibly can be.
Forward line is a little to weak for my liking but if you think Salem, Hogan and Clark can all play regulary and score well then I guess they are great picks.

To be honest I cant really fault this team.

would love your thoughts on my team.

tor01doc

Your original team was very funny with its defensive bench made up of a Browne Dick!  ;D

Shaun Edwards won't be in our best 22 but I guess he is just a place holder for now.

IMO you are still a premo short in defence and forward.

Maybe go with one less mid premo and add a premo forward and in the mids.

Decent platform to work with.
