Came here to mention Maric as well!

We all know how good he was in 2012, then during 2013 had the groin issue hold him back.

Missed a good chunk of last year after having surgery on it, then dominated the last few months of the season.

I'm thinking a Goldstein - Maric ruck combo this year could be a fantastic 'set and forget' setup, both with potential to average 110.

I reckon that's a really nice ruck combo, but I feel like the set and forget approach might not be the right way to go this season with guys like NicNat, Kruez, Leuey and Belco all underpriced.

With that being said, the benefit of going with set and forget does allow you to place a spud at R3 and not really worry about having cover in the forward line

Wilbur and Nic Nat could be an interesting combo. I know one of the top rucks will be priced under 500k this year, I am just not certain who it is since I have my eye on a few

Getting more and more tempted to just grab 2 out of Goldy, Mummy, Maric or NicNat and be done with it.

I know there are good money saving options in Leuey and Kreuzer but I like to pick mid pricers in the hope that they can become keepers (i.e Sandi last year) but I don't think either of these guys will be as they will both spend to much time forward.

I like the idea of starting with 1 premo and 1 mid pricer, because it gives us the time to see who the stand out ruck is, and also an opportunity to grab a good ruck if they drop in price, while our mid pricer increases in price

Pro's and Con's to both approaches - just depends on what structure you want to go with at the end of the day

Goldy is a SC Gun.
Nic Nat is underpriced and a SC king.
Can't go past these two tbh.
Set and Forget.

I think we all will need cover at some stage during the year.
Whether it's R3 cover or Fwd cover , we will need it.
The great advantage with SC is to adjust yout team right up until lockout.
Late outs can cause carnage but with cover this can be avoided.

Thinking NicNat and Maric at the moment with Mason Cox as R3 and Bellchambers in the forward line.
Might swap Maric with Leuy but I'm concerned about Leuy being 3rd qtr sub material if big Stefan starts 2015 like he finished 2014. Plus there is Trent West floating around.

Ringo

For those with concerns about Trent West he is still 4/6 weeks away from training so will not be available in early rounds imo.

Top 5 IMO
Goldstein, Mumford, NicNat, Jacobs and I reckon Maric coul pop in at 5. Big Boy not far away either. I'd say those guys are the ones who can go 105+ other than that I can see many others exceeding 95 maybe one of lobbe and Ryder.

I'd throw witts in as a POD give him 1 more year

The new negative points for ineffective hit outs though! Anyone know where to find %'s like hit outs to adv and disadv?????

honza

IMO no to Maric. His game is built on aggression. He got away with it for one year because nobody really anticipated a player attempting/surviving a whole season being a human battering ram. He's welcome to try again, loved watching it.

Goldy has the security that he demands to be played sole ruck and NM let him. Jacobs is SC gold at taps to advantage. Both are your durability. All that combined is your top 2 IMO.
