Both good points, I just see Wallis as a huge gamble, I just think you can optimise your money a lot better and save a trade down the track, I'm not sure if there's much difference between Wallis and Mitchells JS. but the gamble with Mitchell is a lot safer

Wallis has much better JS. Besides, Wallis isn't meant to be a keeper. He is M9 cover who should average 95-100, while only being priced at just over 300k. Not much of a gamble imo

Glenn could be back on the cards for those that haven't got him yet with Prestia out for 12-16 weeks

Reckons he's a small chance for this week will more than likely miss and should be back the week after mate.
Really? Even with more players set to miss this weekend

Yeh he injured his ankle early in the last game he played hence his score being pretty poor. Still not quite over it yet and rated himself as a low chance of getting up for this week but reckons he'll be right for the following week mate.

Do you think we can grab him this week in full confidence that he will get named next week? I really wanna ditch Lonie this week

Wallis at 325k sounds like a bargain to me now with lack of rookies.
Allows me to offload Lulumba and pocket cash and upgrade Cripps to Rocky too.

Careful of the bye situation. Assuming you are moving Mckenzie to the backs to bring Wallis in?
What is the point in Wallis

The same point people picked Tom Mitchell.  Will make money and score reasonably well.  Lack of rookies making people creative.
But Mitchell has the potential to be a top 10 foward, Wallis doesn't
Exactly. You'll need Wallis to average 100 to be worth it and even then he'll only make you just over 100k. If he doesn't hit that then you'll be looking for another trade to upgrade him. You're better off waiting for Sloane/Watson to drop and going a rookie up to them

I reckon he'll come back through the twos. He's only a 2 gamer.

I have Wallis already. I think he can really have a great season. He was sensational on the weekend. I actually thought he deserved more. Tackled very well also. Hair like Priddis, keep playing like Priddis please :)

With Trengove out for 6 weeks, Clurey could be a defensive option in a few weeks

If he averages 100 he will eventually rise to 500k.  He makes 175k if that is the case.

His points will be slightly better than any rookie downgrade currently available.  Should make sufficient cash.  Gets 100k in the bank now from trading Cripps for other upgrades and won't require much cash to upgrade later if he doesn't stay at m9 anyway.

redfield

Basically, I need to do one downgrade this week so I have to try and figure out which rookie has the best JS for the upcoming bye rounds, get him in and then pray. At this stage, I'd say Dale but it would be great if another one or two presented themselves between now and round 11.

If he averages 100, it'll take him to round 21-22 to hit 500k. Around round 14 he'll make 140k (if he averages 100).
So 2 trades to make 240k. No thanks

If you can see him going 105-110 over the next 2 months then jump on, anything less and it isn't worth it

Interesting debate this one.
Theres merit on both sides here. The lack of any good JS rookies makes it worth a go but in another season where there are rookies I'd say its not.
After the byes, I think we will see a lot of ppl trading in non-playing players for cash and loophole benefits, mainly because decent rookies will be scarce.

How much money do you make going to Dale?  And if he doesn't play again, how many points do you lose.  Do you then use another trade to another rookie??

I'm not trading in Dale? Think someone else mentioned him above.

But assuming its a topped out rookie like Tarrant, then you'd make 210k in one trade. And points won't matter because Dale shouldn't be starting for you at this point in the season

Even during the byes??

_wato

Yep all about getting enough players during the byes, hence why Walis is in for me

BE of 30, should average 95+ and will be nothing to trade to Sloane once their byes are over

You shouldn't need him in the byes either.

And they aren't comparable as on field starters because you'd be using Wallis as a starter, where as Dale isn't.

In a few weeks you have Wallis at M8, others with have a premo mid (as most will have complete midfields by the byes). Meaning they get a points advantage over the byes as well.
