Well done RD!! I has fooled into going 2 premo rucks and am considering a downgrade so i will be in similar situation as you. I dont think miller will get dropped as JOM is out for the year and Bartel, well i don't know.

AaronKirk

Yeah have to keep Bartel if he is out. Still got plenty of the ball, just has to use the ball better and hope his teammates play better to improve his output.

RaisyDaisy

Time to give this thread a good old fashioned bump to seek advice from FF because I am absolutely stumped on what to do this week and would love some suggestions

DEF: McDonald, Shaw, Simpson, Lumumba, Ox, Saad (McIntosh, Brown)

MID: Fyfe, Pendles, Jelwood, Shiel, Dangerfield, Cripps, Miller, Krakouer (Vandenberg, McKenzie, Glenn)

RUC: Goldy, NicNat (Bellchambers)

FWD: Gray, Goddard, Martin, Swan, Bontempelli, Tarrant (Clark, Read)

Feel like my forward line and rucks are fine for now (NicNat not doing great but I'll deal with him later and still have Belly as cover who can swing into forwards too)

It's my midfield and defence that needs work. If Simpson and Saad were playing than my defence wouldn't be that bad, but with them both being out I had to field both Tosh and Brown last week and that killed my score, and if they are both out again this week I'm thinking I will need to neglect my midfield again and bring in another prem defender)

My concerns:

Lumumba is on the trade table - I got sucked in by his preseason role and am happy to trade him if the right trade can be found
Saad and Simpson being injured leaves me too light down back
I really need a 6th prem mid, but with no money in the kitty (2.1k lol) I don't know what to do

I'm happy to hang onto Vanders if need be because he shouldn't drop below 300k and will be very handy through the byes

Not keen on Rocky this week - need to see more from him before picking him

JPK is the guy I would love to get, but again with lack of funds and lack of downgrade options I don't how I could get him unless I culled Lumumba or Bellchambers and upgraded Cripps

Would really appreciate some good thinking and suggestions :)

Donnie Brasco

Raisy, I'm in the same boat. So, sorry mate, I'm no help at all, ha ha... don't know whether or not to grab Lever, McInnes, etc.

RaisyDaisy

Here are a few options I have come up with so far

Brown to Lever and Lumumba to Rance
Brown to Scharenberg (D8 floating donut who I think will get games soon enough anyway) and McIntosh to Hibberd
Brown to Scharenberg and Vandenberg to Rocky
Lumumba to Lever and Vandenberg to 554k mid
Lumumba to Lever and Oxley to Rance, leaving me with 145k so I could do Cripps to JPK next week

There are options to trade out Clark or Bellchambers too, but I don't think there is any real gain by doing that over these ideas

Ricochet

Think I like the first and last one mate. Not too keen on a floating donut.

Not sure what the hell I'll do with Lumumba myself

Ringo

Same Boat as most of us RD

Wait and see till teams named.

Of the options listed take the last one as with our luck this year trade Brown out and he will score big again.

Do not mind the floating 0 myself as I am considering bringing in Steele whether he plays or not. main reason for this being is that he has the DPP so I can switch Krak to mids or fwds as required.

Not real keen on Hibberd at this stage but just personal.

So seriously do not mind 1st or last.

RaisyDaisy

I agree Rico

I think if I am going to upgrade the backline this week, then the first and last options make sense

The last option costs me an extra trade, but it does essentially allow me to do a corrective trade on Lumumba to JPK

Brown to Lever and Lumumba to Rance
Brown to Lever and Ox to Rance
Lumumba to Lever and Ox to Rance allowing Cripps to JPK next week (Rocky + Cash an option too)

I really wanted to get a 6th mid in this week, but am now thinking I need to trade in defence again due to Saad and Simpson having question marks, and not wanting to ever field Brown lol

Ricochet

haha yeh there is no chance in hell i am deliberately fielding Brown. It's basically a donut

T Dog

Hey RD..just a thought, Cripps to Priddis ( or JPK), Saad to A Pearce?

Cheer T, but Saad has a negative BE and Pearce has dodgy JS once McPharlin and Dawson return

Lumumba does have better JS over Ox in terms of avoiding the vest, and long term I'd prefer Harry at D5 over Ox, so I think at this stage I'll either go Brown to Lever and Ox to Rance (Works well getting rid of 2 rd12 rookies) or Ox to Lever and Lumumba to Rance, giving me cash to upgrade Cripps next week

AaronKirk

With your forwards and ruck fairly strong do you really need to keep that sack of shower that is Bellchambers?

Why not trade him via Read DPP to McInnes who looks the best rookie of a bad bunch and then upgrade defence.

Personally I'm going Brown to Bob Murphy this week but Rance is a decent option in defence if you think he can keep his scoring up.

I have considered dumping Bellchambers for McInnes, but I think I'd rather Belly, Clark and Read covering R3,F7&8 with DPP instead of Clark, Read and McInnes with no DPP and no ruck cover

I'll downgrade Belly closer to his bye I think, then use those funds to turn NicNat into Sauce/Mummy/Maric/Martin etc

Upgrading Nic Nat would be a luxury trade. Would you be at full premo at round 12?

I would hope so, but either way I am going to hang onto Belcho for now, because he just sits on the bench for coverage anyway while I've got players on field who are costing me points

So far, I think my best option is Brown to Lever and Ox/Lumumba to Rance, but I've just come up with another option that I think I like too

Ox/Lumumba to Lever and Brown to Rocky via McKenzie

My mid bench of Vandenberg, McKenzie and Glenn with Krak on field at M8 looks dodgy as hell, but by getting McKenzie to D8 with this trade and bringing in Rocky at M6, it means I field Cripps and Miller and have Vandenberg, Krakouer and Glenn which looks much better and deeper for mid bench coverage

I'll be light down back this week with 3 premo's plus Lumumba/Ox at D4 then 2 rookies on field out of Saad, Lever, Tosh and McKenzie which I don't think is too bad anyway, and then next week I can downgrade one of Vandenberg, Clark or Bellchambers and then upgrade either Tosh to Rance or Cripps to JPK

I think I'm preferring this move over the Rance move. I was going to wait another week to see if Rocky would go well, and I still would prefer to wait and see him pump out a good score before getting on board, but by bringing him in this week I do like how it moves McKenzie to from mid to def and bolsters mid bench, and worst case scenario Rocky at M9 would be fine, but I think it's fair to say he will eventually be back and firing

Next week if there are no downgrade targets, I could downgrade Clark to Lambert, then swing Lambert and Krak so Krak becomes my forward E and Lambert can just sit at M11. That will give me cash to turn Tosh into Rance/Prem Defender or I could do Cripps to JPK and be left with enough to upgrade Lumumba to Rance/Prem the following week

Def think the Ox to Lever and Brown to Rocky via McKenzie is the trade I'll be going with this week for now, as long as at least one of Simmo and Saad return this week
