Don't mind it Rd, just things that jump at me, Brodie Smith, would rather Shaw or Hibberd. Don't like tbc but I seem to be the only one who doesn't. Also you need NVB, he's got the best JS as a 'rookie' should average 75/80!

Gigantor

Pretty similar structure to mine,
Nice strong backs but D7+8 are a concern then again I'm yet to see a team that doesn't have a concerning D7+8 ???
Would you go back to Goldy if enough cheap mid rooks played and you could replace Cockatoo?

Grufflez

Other than Sam fisher very nice team with the structure you are playing.
Probably one of the best 4 mid teams i have seen 9/10,
you have avoided skimping on rookies mostly as well.

frenzy

nice team RD, but cannot get my head around people picking Salem but each to their own I suppose. To use your own anology, he's a "slow burn" but goodluck.

You're paying 180k for a player with solid JS who is training to be his team's quarterback - What's not to like?

He stunk it up last season and would be a miracle if he turns that around, but hey I will stand corrected if he does, just cannot see it for the life of me. Just like Lumumba, he's another, training with the midfield and doing stoppages yeah. Watch him stink.

Ya can't make a silk purse out of a sow ear. But again each to their own and goodluck.

Salem was a top 10 pick and spent most of last year as the sub while they tried to get him to build a tank to play at the elite level. He showed enough last year to prove he is going to be a gun player at the Dees. A two way runner with very good disposal is SC gold.

And the reason the Lumumba pick is looking alright is because if he plays in the middle he is more then capable of averaging 90 which will make him a premo defender this year.

Not sure if you know but Salem struggled with a thyroid problem last preseason which held him back immensely. IMO the fact that he was even able to play seniors last year is a big positive with regard to his character and the type of player he is. Yes, the thyroid problem meant he didn't have much of a fitness base at all last year, but he still managed to come on as sub several times and showcase some great skills. He has been one of our best trainers this preseason, regularly staying back to do extra one-on-one work with the coaches as he believes it is an area of his game that needs work. He has also gained 9 kilos since last year. Each to their own though I guess.

Money Shot

This is a pretty good team but I think if you are going with a 4 man premo midfield you should really try and get some players like NVB, Biggs etc but that's just my opinion apart from that its a great side.

Good team Raisy Daisy.  The only change I would make is to put JPK back into the team.  You took him out because of the bye, but Jobe is no longer in the team, so could you include JPK back into your team?

Personally I pay little or no attention to the byes when I select my team, because it is one round, but that's just my personal view.

Wowsers, that's a spray for a second year rookie, Salem is silk when it comes to kicking, you'll be hard pressed to find a footballer who can get from A to B quicker, low trajectory bullets are on the menu when Salem has the ball. He's also a very composed character, he has won games off his own boot on many occasions and is built for supercoach. The only risk is he comes at a slight premium.

Cheers JR. Smith is not locked and there is every chance I change him to Shaw or Hibberd, and then turn Cockatoo into NVB

Don't think I've really ever had Goldy. I prefer Maric to be honest. In terms of premiums and the new ruck changes which should see ruck scores drop, I think Maric and NicNat are the two clear premiums who wont drop in price and can both score well enough to set and forget for the price they cost

Thanks Gruff :) I've been the biggest advocate of Fisher around here for a while now. He is locked for me

Yeah, at the beginning I had a 5 prem midfield, but now that I have gone to 4 I can def bring JPK back into the side. M4 right now is a genuine 50/50 between Ward and JPK. I got on Ward really early last year, before most, and he was just so damn good to me I feel as though he hasn't done anything for me to not continue with him

And in regards to Salem, because I don't want to flower around with mid priced defenders for now it means I need to go a little lighter down forward, and out of all of the 130-200kish forwards Salem is easily the pick of the bunch for me. The kid oozes poise and class, and playing off the HB with his boot coupled with shaking off the vest makes him the one for me.

Inspired by KB, and his 2 prem forward approach as well as being bored, I have put this team together  ;D

DEF: Kade Simpson, Heath Shaw, Shannon Hurn, Sam Fisher, Jack Newnes, Brendan Whitecross (Hugh Goddard, Dillon Viojo-Rainbow)

MID: Gary Ablett, Scott Pendlebury, Joel Selwood, Callan Ward, Jobe Watson, Nathan Van Berlo, Blaine Boekhorst, Nathan Freeman (Aaron Vandenberg, Jack Steele, Kane Lambert)

RUC: Ivan Maric, Nic Naitanui (Tom Read)

FWD: Dustin Martin, Dane Swan, Tom Bellchambers, Christian Salem, Mitch Clarke, Jesse Hogan (Patrick Karnezis, Andrew Krakouer)

$1400 left. Caleb Daniel could replace Karny if need be

Really like it mate 14 keepers and belly ... Boom

Just did a similar one check it out

kilbluff1985

yeah similar teams i kinda like your midfield structure better i could do the same by getting a cheaper premo instead of Rocky/Ablett
