Solid team there Raisy, not far off my own. As for Van Berlo & Whitecross, it becomes a matter of waiting for the preseason. I'm personally not sold on NVB, he averaged 67 in 2013 & 77 in 2014, he also has the likes of Crouch, Grigg & Knight breathing down his neck. One ton in 2 seasons is another factor to consider, I think there will be others who do better.

Really good looking side.

DEF: All picks are solid and I'm personally not a fan of the Fisher pick but can see why you are so no worries there. I don't think Whitecross will play round 1 but you have a back up plan for that so all good.

MID: All 4 are solid picks and should all be amongst the top scoring mids this year. Some will pick NVB, some won't. Personally I would rather downgrade him and spend the extra 100k elsewhere.

RUC: Is obviously risky with Kreuz and Nic Nat but by having Belly up forward you have reduced the risk factor so all good here.

FWD: All great picks and as I said, the Belly pick is required with your ruck combo imo.

Cheers guys

NVB is not locked at all. I've just picked him for now because it allocates that cash to the midfield. Would be more than happy to get a cheaper mid and use the cash elsewhere, just comes down to how many mids are available rd1. It's the same reason I've gone with Whitecross. Just giving myself outs - the option of downgrading them to get more cash if cheaper options become available.

I could downgrade NVB and Whitecross and then upgrade Krooz to a premo, but I'll see what rookies line up rd1 first

I think it makes sense to do this, instead of getting cheaper rookies everywhere with no cash in the bank

At the moment you have 14 keepers plus Waters and TBC who could become keepers.

I'm not sold on the Fisher pick but there are not that many other risks you have. Yes you have kreuzer at M2, but have TBC as cover at F5.

Plus you have spent a stack on rookies so you can rejig when the cheapies come out of the closet. Probably the best side I have seen at this stage.

DEF: Kade Simpson, Grant Birchall, Shannon Hurn, Sam Fisher, Beau Waters, Brendan Whitecross (Hugh Goddard, Dillon Viojo-Rainbow)

MID: Gary Ablett, Scott Pendlebury, Joel Selwood, Callan Ward, Nathan Van Berlo, Nathan Freeman, Blair Boekhorst, Isaac Heeney (Aaron Vandenberg, Jack Steele, Kane Lambert)

RUC: Nic Naitanui, Matthew Kreuzer (Mason Cox)

FWD: Brett Deledio, Brendon Goddard, Dustin Martin, Dane Swan, Tom Bellchambers, Mitch Clark (Jesse Hogan, Caleb Daniel)

$6900 remaining. Bye Structure 11/9/10

first off, love the structure.
really good mix of premiums and mid-pricers.

DEF: 3 top 10s who are SUPER consistent is an awesome foundation. Fisher is a proven scorer but @ 32 y/o can he keep going?? Could very well be a tier 2 premo with Waters.

MID: 4 top 10s including Gazza. awesome start. I'd love to fit in Gazza but it doesnt fit my structure right now. Ward will get better too.

RUC: Love the NicNat/Kreuzer combo. plenty of value there.

FWD: 4 top 10 fwds. yes i'm calling it now Dusty will easily be a top 10 fwd.
Not a fan of TBC, i've made my opinions on him feel well known, but i understand the choice in picking him as cover.

keep up the good work and good luck

if you get a chance check out my team

Thanks AK and Keeper :)

I understand the hesitation around Fisher, but having the ability to downgrade Whitecross or NVB means I can always turn him into Hibberd, or Kreuzer into Maric

Pretty much locked with this team for now. The only changes I can see myself making are Whitecross and NVB being downgraded if rookies pop up to replace them, Fisher or Kreuzer possibly being switched and Dusty vs Buddy. The structure I'm very happy with and would be more than happy to take this team into rd1

Feel like I've got a really nice balance here :)

Forwards & rucks identical to mine, you've gone one less premo mid whereas I've gone Swallow & you've gone Fisher, that's really the main difference. I guess the key will be how well the defensive rookies go.

Ringo

You have a structure that suits you RD and that is fine.  Remember everyone has an opinion and we all need to agree to differ but you have to go with gut on structure for team.

Just need to sit and sort out rookies playing round 1.  Mid Rookies may be an issue but you can cover with Lambert being your DPP  as I can not see from Heeney down playing Round 1.  My opinion though,

Nice team for your structure and byes are great,

fasttrack13

It's a ripper team, Sam Fisher and Krooz probably my only selection queries but it looks very very good! Nice stuff!

RaisyDaisy

Just slapped this team together in the event that Waters doesn't get up

No longer have Belly for ruck cover which is a bit concerning, but if Kreuz or NN get injured I'd have to just burn a trade, but I prefer going with this stronger backline instead of getting defenders in the 250-350k range

DEF: Kade Simpson, Michael Hibberd, Grant Birchall, Shannon Hurn, Sam Fisher, Brendan Whitecross (Hugh Goddard, Dillon Viojo-Rainbow)

MID: Gary Ablett, Scott Pendlebury, Joel Selwood, Callan Ward, Shane Biggs, Isaac Heeney, Blair Boekhorst, Nathan Freeman (Aaron Vandenberg, Jack Steele, Kane Lambert)

RUC: Nic Naitanui, Matthew Kreuzer (Mason Cox)

FWD: Brendon Goddard, Lance Franklin, Dustin Martin, Dane Swan, Mitch Clark, Jesse Hogan (Caleb Daniel, Nathan Krakouer)

$600 left

Really like it Chris. Good to see no midpricers in the backline. It's not the way to go imo.

I've gone for pretty much the same structure but with just 4 different potential keepers to you which is just personal preference.

Nice work.

Thanks Ben. I'm hesitant not having any ruck cover, but I'd rather roll the dice there and keep the rest of my team solid instead of bringing in crappy mid pricers just because Waters isn't fit

The other option I am leaning towards is sticking with the original side above with Waters in it, but just downgrading NVB to a cheaper rookie like Krakouer, then upgrading Waters to KK as he has been training to use his run and play on the wing this season, which keeps Belly and everything else as is

So it's essentially these two teams I am looking to start for now

Team 1

DEF: Kade Simpson, Grant Birchall, Shannon Hurn, Sam Fisher, Kade Kolodjashnij, Brendan Whitecross (Hugh Goddard, Dillon Viojo-Rainbow)

MID: Gary Ablett, Scott Pendlebury, Joel Selwood, Callan Ward, Nathan Freeman, Blair Boekhorst, Isaac Heeney Aaron Vandenberg (Jack Steele, Kane Lambert, Nathan Krakoeur)

RUC: Nic Naitanui, Matthew Kreuzer (Mason Cox)

FWD: Brendon Goddard, Lance Franklin, Dustin Martin, Dane Swan, Tom Bellchambers, Mitch Clark (Jesse Hogan, Caleb Daniel)

Team 2

DEF: Kade Simpson, Michael Hibberd, Grant Birchall, Shannon Hurn, Sam Fisher, Brendan Whitecross (Hugh Goddard, Dillon Viojo-Rainbow)

MID: Gary Ablett, Scott Pendlebury, Joel Selwood, Callan Ward, Shane Biggs, Isaac Heeney, Blair Boekhorst, Nathan Freeman (Aaron Vandenberg, Jack Steele, Kane Lambert)

RUC: Nic Naitanui, Matthew Kreuzer (Mason Cox)

FWD: Brendon Goddard, Lance Franklin, Dustin Martin, Dane Swan, Mitch Clark, Jesse Hogan (Caleb Daniel, Nathan Krakouer)

Love the structure RD, particularly in the backline as I think alot of coaches are pinning their hopes on rookies who are not even 50/50 for round 1, or awkwardly priced placeholders.  For what it's worth I went Scott D.Thompson instead of Fisher at D5, but same line of reasoning.  Not convinced about NVB?  I reckon he's more likely to play and score consistently than Whitecross, though they are in different lines.  I know your budget is stretched, but I'd be trying to upgrade Heeney (who I cant see forcing his way into a strong Swans side) to NVB, and downgrading Whitecross (to who I've got no idea lol)

fasttrack13

Team 1 for me RD,
thinking Birchall could be more of an upgrade target now though...?

Really solid either way!
