Not to mention Zorko, Christensen and Redden too!
Zorko's average will drop by about 10ppg next season, unless he manages to kick a heap of goals. Will get next to no midfield time. Also our players will effectively be stealing points from the opposition. This year it was basically Rocky going huge, and the rest of the big scorers from the other team, as we'd leak huge amounts of points, especially to the opposing midfield. Would expect that to drop, so it's not just our own players getting points stolen from them.

There should be a rich rookie option or a wells rookie option. One of them will be good value at the moment I am leaning towards rich and spending the cash elsewhere

crowls

Given that rookie option provides cash generation and two mid pricers is unlikely to generate cash for upgrade you need to include a rookie.      Still leaves Rich/Rookie or Superprem/Rookie option available if you beleive Rich will score well enough.

Challenge is who in Brissie is going to get points consistently?

I remember concerns over rich in his u18 years...
It shows rich has missed 14 games... did he get dropped?
Rich played 59 games straight before the following injuries and suspensions:
6 weeks with a foot injury in 2011
2 week suspension in 2012
6 weeks injury from a collision at training resulting in a damaged shoulder in 2013.

From a cash generation point of view if Rich was to say be priced at $320k and average 90 which imo he will he should generate at least $180k. Will be a handy upgrade after the byes and should be a constant scorer till then.

Just waiting for prices to be advertised to decide whether to go with both, premo/rook or one of these probably Rich plus rookie.

Agree GL. People worry about the addition of players stealing points off each other every year, but when they are the main contributors of the team it barely makes a difference. Buddy was the big one this year that everyone worried about, then there's guys like Pendles, Swan, Beams, Sidey, etc who all dominate in the same team. It's only fringe players that get hurt because they are pushed out of major roles (like midfield rotations) or pushed out of the starting team.

Yep, but Rich and Zorko are going to be the main two to be effected surely

Beams, Rocky, Redden etc will still be scoring well through the mids, but I reckon Rich will be effected and will only average 75-80ish

Agree mate. Only way I see Rich scoring well is off a halfback role. He is so efficient and that role is so SC friendly, but I'm still not sold on him

Premium and rookie for me. I'll be going a 5 premo 5 rookie mid next year. So many premiums up forward and there are usually the best rookies in the mids, ill save my midpricers for defence (where there arent many premiums and a midpricer could easily become a keeper) and maybe my rucks.

How the points are distributed won't hurt Zorko, his position will. Zorko playing mid will be a rarity this year.

If Rich plays off half back (which he will), his points won't get hurt.

Harwood may lose some points but it wouldnt be a major loss, and should still have a similar average.

2 Trades will likely be needed if you take Rich and Wells

1 Trade will likely be needed if you take a proven gun and a rookie.

This is not taking into account injuries and suspensions obviously.

Midfield mid-pricers generally are not worth it. now that it is confirmed that Rich is going to be a mid only I cannot consider him personally as a viable option.

Wells has the 100+ ability, but his injury history over recent years is nerving.  The risk IMO outweighs the benefit.

I will be going guns and rookies in the mids and maybe going with 1 or 2 mid pricers on other lines.

Wish both Rich and Wells well. But to me prem/rookie is a no brainer and especially now that there are 11 mids.  Perhaps a new game plan or structure  may be required because of this ??     ;)

Agree Sabre change in rules will necessitate a rethink of strategy.
