Do we dare start Sam Gilbert in place of Waters? Only about 30k more

My ass cheeks just clenched even typing his name, but it's getting ugly down back!

Gilbert had a setback woth his foot a couple of weeks ago and will miss Rnd 1.

I Honestly doubt he'll ever get up again. On Gilberts role there are some rumors that Acers might take his role in the team given that he has grown a bit... but they're just rumors.

btw with so many Carton supporters in this thread why hasn't Mathew Dick been mentioned? I don't remember where but I'm pretty sure someone mentioned he was likely to get a game over DVR?

As a Carlton fan the only rookie I see getting a good amount of games regularly is Boekhurst.

You culled 12 - over a quarter - from your list. That combined with form, mick's mood swings, and injuries means rooks will be getting plenty of games.

How about Cripps lads?

From the Cripps thread

He will probably be fighting for Brock's spot but then again, Brock was fighting for a spot in the team. I think this could be another development year for him and he will predominantly play reserves footy. He doesn't have the pace that someone like Boekhorst will bring to the 22 and he hasn't got the ability to play forward yet. You also have the more experienced (in terms of development even though they are both young) ball magnet in Graham fighting for the same spot, Whiley comes in and adds another player with a similar skill set but better defensively.

The core midfield group to me looks like this

Murph, Gibbs, Judd, Simpson, Carrots (when healthy) and Curnow

You then have these guys rotating through in Docherty, Yarran, Thomas, Bell, Buckley, Menz, Everitt (pending on his role) and maybe even Walker (his role is the big unknown)

These are the guys then all pushing for spots

Cripps, Boekhorst, Graham, Whiley and maybe Tutt, Armfield and Holman as pinch hitters.

Also of the guys they delisted, Waite was the only one playing at the end of the year with Brock. Brock would have been depth this year if he did get a spot on the list while Waite is a KPP so it is not like Cripps will step in for him

RICHMOND vice captain Brett Deledio is being carefully managed by the Tigers' fitness staff after developing soreness in his problematic Achilles tendon.

Wary of how much the 27-year-old was affected by the persistent injury when it flared in the early rounds of last season, the Tigers are taking no chances this summer.

Deledio was kept back from this week's community camp visit to East Gippsland, along with captain Trent Cotchin, midfielder Dustin Martin and others dealing with minor ailments.

Cotchin and Martin are managing hamstring soreness and on a specific strength program designed to speed up their recovery.

The flare up of an old achilles injury + first tagged Tiger = welcome Goddard to my team

Hmmm that's a concern. I might go Dusty over him, but the article mentions him having a minor ailment.. Any ideas on what that could be?
