Profile

Franklin's first month at Sydney has been well documented and it certainly caused grief for anyone who picked him in fantasy. He recovered well as the season progressed and post-bye averaged 104.5 with 7/11 tons. As has been the case for most of his career, free kicks cost him dearly (in 2014 it reduced his average by a whopping 6 points). That's unlikely to ever change and those who pick him should also be mindful that Franklin hasn't played a full season in a long, long time. But you don't pick Buddy to give you solid 90-100 scores week in week out, he is the ultimate risk and reward player. Some weeks he will be your hero, winning your league matches, the next week he's out with a knee and you're copping a donut. I think now that he's more settled at the Swans he'll be well placed to nudge back up around the 100 mark. One thing to consider though is that he has historically performed poorly in SA and WA and he travels to both those states in the first four weeks of the season.

actually seemed to be a good option after the first few games
but like Rico said, hard to justify picking him over Swan/Lids/Goddard, which makes him an upgrade target
hopefully starts the season slowly to make that a reality
