Holz

seriously starting to lean towards, Goldy Nic Nat and the cheapest cover.

roll the dice I say.

How about 2 prem rucks,  a cheap DPP F/R   An R3 who plays mostly Sat or Sun games, and Ryder in the forward line ??     :o

Exactly. Looking at Nic Nat/Goldy and Kreuz/Leuy and Read as R3 and Ryder in the forwards. Most worried about Ryder but hopefully he hasn't gone to Port for a holiday.

Ports structure has me worried about starting Ryder, though a few NAB games should tell us if we can expect Ryder to play more ruck than fwd

Agree, Ryder would be a nice dpp in the forward line if Ports structure and SC scoring combine to work for him. Needs to be a wait and see with change of team but can see him being a handy fwd and ruck cover if he can score ok.

I really like this idea, it means I can start Jacobs/Goldstein, but just have to forego a FWD/MID at F3 to fit Ryder in, but if he can go at 100 it'll be worth it. I think his move to Port can definitely help him improve on last year so 105 isn't out of the question.

What I'm thinking at the moment is having 3 of kreuzer, leuenburger, Nic Nat or belly, I know that's a lot of money on the bench but how far away is it from having godly, mummy and a rookie or even goldy Nic Nat rookie.

If I was planing on having a r/f link Ryder would be my choice

I just started playing around with the idea of having Belly in the rucks. Have Goldy as R1 as he was underpriced anyway so price shouldn't really drop with ruck scoring changes. Belly is probably less of a risk than Leuey/Kreuz, and is cheaper. This also gives me some time to see which other ruck(s) get hurt by the new scoring system, and which ones flourish. Going set-and-forget doesn't allow me to do this.

Oh, and I get Devon "Almost GOAT" Smiddy into my forward line 8)

Also seriously considering this man. Or 3 mid pricers.

But if a decent rookie jumps up closer to round 1 I'll be going Leuey/Krooz and that rookie

I change my mind daily, my vision is that Ryder will kill it in the nab cup slot him in at f4 and run with Nic Nat and kreuzer / leuenburger which ever has the best preseason and a cheap dpp ruck. It's all dependent on how many cheap rookies turn up in the nab

Anyone thought of going for 3 rucks from the one team:

NicNat Lycett and Sinclair = $1,174,100

Bellchambers, Giles, McKernan = $954,400

Either way you should always have cover for a late out, because the out will be replaced from your bench - also frees up a spot on your forward line.

Essendon combo would be dangerous - although none would be effected by the drugs saga.  West Coast I see as a good option - rate Lycett this year (as so WC by extending his contract) - he will play as NicNat needs support.  A lot of money on the bench (267,400) but WC rate Sinclair.

Worth thinking about!  Comments?

I understand your logic - it makes sense, but for 1,161,700 I'd rather NicNat, Kreuzer and Belly. Reckon Kreuz can score more than Lycett and Belly plays more than Sinclair and has much better JS

muggle25

Belly on the bench?  Costs an additional $30K over Sinclair but a different bye round if you planned on keeping all 3 past the byes.

Could work.  Will definitely think about it

Don't think the F/R link works - don't want a f/r in my forward line, and they don't provide coverage for late outs.  Would prefer to have insurance through the bench.

Will have to watch Sinclair and West Coast carefully over the NAB Challenge.  Unfortunately the NAB Challenge won't tell us much about Essendon's plans  :-[

Belly in the forwards on field, not ruck bench

Kreuzer plays early every round, so if he is a late out you can swing Belly in
