Little fiddle with a little more midprice team. I thinks it's pretty good not something id go with but worth a look...

DEF: Shaw, Hibberd, Savage, Yeo, Macmillan, Waters (Dick, Goddard
2 Keepers, 2 50/50 Yeo should push into the midfield and average 80+ decent cash cow or keeper (unlikely but s chance). Savage defender who can can score like a midfielder. If he Is looking like getting in early he's worth a look. Macmillan and Waters purely cash cows 75+ from both on the cards though
MID: Ablett, Fyfe, Ward, Dangerfield, Newton, Sheed, Biggs, Boekhorst (Heeney, Freeman, Dumont)
Same midfield Premos apart from danger, really would be a place holder at this stage. Newton, Sheed, Biggs, Vanberlo, Acres the 200-220k guys who could produce really well. So for this team id pick 3. Biggs and Newton probably the locks IMO. Newton recruited to play and Biggs to fill HB be.
Goldstein, Naitanui (Nankervis)
This won't change for any team I do lol
Gray, Franklin, Swan, J.Martin, Je.Garlett, Clark (Hogan, Steele)
Got the premos... J.Martin cash cow not a keeper, showed signs last year 80+ is possible. Garlett take 75+ (Carlton days average) get himself up to 400k which is ideal.

Only reason I did this is because if rookies don't pop up need an alternative. saying that I do like this team. It's a trial thing but IMO it would be just as effective as GNR.
like I said not my really team but good to have back up structure...

Feel free to rip it apart

Played around with my team today and chucked Yeo into my team for the third time this preseason. Will play midfield and I expect an 80 average to be more than likely to be honest

Haven't looked at Macmillan much personally but maybe one for me to look at

Savage is one that needs to prove to me more. Between him and Newnes I prefer newnes

I have Biggs and Newton at this stage ahead of NVB and Acres ... But if I downgrade m5 I think I may look at one of these guys

People rating Garlett maybe I need to look at him again, never liked him

Love the jack Martin pick... Expecting him to be well worth a selection this year I just haven't had the guts to do it at his stage ... If he shows form in NAB he will be in my team

After a long long break of anticipation it's finally here! The opening, thank goodness I can save a team perminently now!

MacMillan is an interesting pick, I take it he is a place holder at the moment. The Mullett injury could see a spot open up but considering they just brought in Higgins to play a similar role I don't know how he will go for getting games. Ialso probably wouldn't go with both Martin and Jeffy, it might be worth looking at downgrading one and using the cash to upgrade MacMillan.

It does look like a really solid starting point which is what you want before the NAB.

fasttrack13

Macmillan selected purely on the fact he was a breakout contender last year but got injured. Then after injury was a walk up starter in north's finals campaign. All I'm looking for from him is a slightly attacking role in nab. But yes a placeholder.

Cheers mate, agree with what your saying 100%. Hopefully nab cup makes me 100% sure on everything rather than make things worse!

Nice team mate. I think another premo in defence would be good but except for that i like the structure. 4 rookie on field mids is a good tactic. With NVB and Biggs in there, who will make you alot of cash and have great JS will allow you to not only have a much stronger starting team due to the large amt of money left but will be very handy during the year allowing you to make alot from downgrading and making it easier to upgrade. Love the ruck combo.
I suggest the following swaps

Rockliff (many quality players in the mid and will receive heavy tag week in week out) > Watson/A swollow or another player 550k
Macmillan > Birchall (Frawley and no injuries will lead to high scoring running free)/B smith/Burgouyne etc (Any premo defender)
Garlett > Harper/Salem
J Martin > TMitch/Walters

Very strong defence then with waters at D6. Impressive!!!
Mids. Like 4 rooks and 4 ultra premos all capable of 120+
Rucks. Love it
Fwds. Strong and all rookies playing

Like it alot, would love your thoughts on my team.

Disagree, Rocky will not be tagged. Beams, Hanley, Rich are more influential on the play than rockliff. Saying that when rockliff was heavily tagged (4 occasions) averaged 129... The way rockliff plays makes him untaggale.

That little piece there on Birchall may have convinced me I need to try get him!!!! Thanks mate!

Yeah got me thinking about birchall now  ;)

Yeah mate. I am a Hawkthorn supporter obviously and i remember the good old days when he was scoring 150's. I think he can do it again with such a strong backline now with Frawley, Stratton, Suckling, Gibson all able to play on the smaller players will lead to Birch playing spare man unlike last year. He still managed to ave 90.

Money Shot

That's a pretty good side mate!
Maybe Garlett (as a Carlton supporter watching him play last season he seemed un interested) down to C.Daniel (kid will be a gun)
Then use that money to turn Henderson into someone like a Simpson or a Birchall.
Then that gives you a bit more money to spend on upgrading Macmillan if needed.

Hopefully the new key back will allow him to become elite in rebounding 50. Would certainly lift his average high 90s. Will need to see how high he plays in nab

When mick doesnt like/want you then it's hard to stay interested. Reckon roosy could get a bit more outta jeffy. In the way that Lyon got Walters to work but not quite to that SuperCoach extent. He's always threatened to go big. Maybe the new change could help that

Yeah fair enough. And at that price he will make you money regardless.

Exactly and if he gets himself above 400k I win...

fasttrack13

Who will score higher?

Birchall or Newnes?

For me birchall's range is 89-95 and Newnes is 84-100.

Newnes seems like a boom or bust option... Thoughts?
