Nice Bones. Agree that you need to have another look at those rucks though. If you're going with two guys coming off decent injuries then you'll need some decent cover as well

:) Hi BB, nice team but you've done what I did but with different players.   5 of your midfield are Rd. 12 on the byes but at least you have yours as a mix of prems and rookies, I had 5 prems. Personally don't go with the Leuey / Kreuzer ruck but that may be to your advantage as I can't remember the last time I was right.
I'm really hoping that there might be rookie bargains in defence this coming season Coz I want to fill that last, but time will tell. Cheers and all the best mate.    ;)
Thanks for your input Sabre.
I have been looking at byes for premos but not so much for rookies. Will hopefully move most on by then.
Will try to explain my thoughts on the rucks in a moment.
Cant wait to see some rookies actually play in preseason games, they are mostly just names on paper at the moment.

I would love a playing rookie ruck as cover.
I'm not sure a R/F like Belly is worth it.
I don't want him on the ruck bench.
Loopholing the rucks only works for the ruck playing in the earliest game of the round. If he scores well then you put your non-playing ruck on the field. So if the ruck playing last game of the round goes down during the match you are stuck with their score and you have to decide wether to trade or keep the following week. Belly doesn't cover their crap score but you may trade the injured ruck to a forward or move the injured player to the bench and swap Belly into the ruck and the ruck rookie onto the forward bench. If they are gone for weeks you will trade them anyway.
Would not be planning to finish with Belly in my team either.
At the moment I'm liking Cotchin a lot more than Rich and think the right forward rookie can score as well as Belly.
All of this depends heavily on the preseason of Luey and Kruez. If they are looking the goods I may go in without cover. They have very good scoring ability for the starting price.
Risk it for the biscuit!
But then it is only December, who knows how many times the team will change.

Oh, and of course Belly may be suspended anyway. Not sure if he is one of the 34.

If Luey and Kruez can get to premo status I only need 7 upgrades to get a full team. Haha not likely to be that easy!

Pity you're going to be way over the salary cap when the rucks are priced properly.

Yeah you're probably right but it is fun to play around with FanPlanner. That's why we do it.

With Gold open and positions and prices confirmed here is the best starting point I can come up with.

Salary cap left: $35,400.

Kade Simpson, Brodie Smith, Heath Shaw, Michael Hibberd, Brendan Whitecross, Matthew Dick
Hugh Goddard, Jake Kolodjashnij

Gary Ablett jnr, Scott Pendlebury, Nathan Fyfe, Joel Selwood, Nathan van Berlo, Angus Brayshaw, Nakia Cockatoo, Isaac Heeney
Nathan Freeman, Kane Lambert, A. Vandenberg

Nic Naitanui, Matthew Kreuzer
Mason Cox

Brett Deledio, Brendon Goddard, Dustin Martin, Dane Swan, Caleb Daniel, Jack Steele
Mitchell Clark, Jesse Hogan

Like this structure and pretty set on these premiums as all are definite keepers barring long term injuries.
In the rucks I believe one of Kreuzer, Luenberger and Bellchambers will be reliable to start the season with and I will take that risk and deal with it when or if I need too. Could possibly sideways to one of the other two if they are going well. Kreuzer is highest priced so he is holding the spot.
Rookies subject to NAB and Rd1 teams.
Interestingly byes are 10/10/10.

Hard to fault a proper guns and rookies team. Starting with 13 premo's, 14 if you can nail the second ruck pick. Pick the right rookies and you'll be flying

Bamboozled by where your cash had gone at first then i saw the defence... Consider Simpson downgrade to rookie or midpricer and brayshaw up to someone...?

Bones Bombers. Salary cap left: $15,700.

Kade Simpson, Brodie Smith, Heath Shaw, Michael Hibberd, Beau Waters, Jake Kolodjashnij
Matthew Dick, Hugh Goddard

Gary Ablett jnr, Scott Pendlebury, Nathan Fyfe, Joel Selwood, Nathan van Berlo, Nakia Cockatoo, Isaac Heeney, Aaron Vandenberg
Nathan Freeman, Kane Lambert, Blaine Boekhorst

Nic Naitanui, Tom Bellchambers
Sam Durdin

Brett Deledio, Brendon Goddard, Dustin Martin, Dane Swan, Mitch Clark, Jesse Hogan
Tim Membrey, Jack Steele

Really stuck on this structure, can't bring myself to change it.
Cant wait to have a look at these rookies in NAB games and then find out who's playing Rd1. If I really need to I can downgrade a couple of premos to cheaper premos, but I like these guys. It's all about the rookies.
