You could be right Dons, but don't we say that every year and he still manages to pump out a 90+ average?
You might say he will be there to help develop the kids and his knee may hampen him, which is true, but to say he'd take the defender away is a ridiculous thing to think, because NRoo is a champion and the best CHF in the game, and it'd be unlike him to just give up his game for the good of the youngsters.. St Kilda wouldn't have it either, as we have to understand that AFL is a sport and a business and your goal is to win the game as much as it is to develop other players.. He still has years to do that and you couldn't expect McCartin or Membrey to kick you 50+ goals and for NRoo to sabotage his game for them (plenty of training sessions and for Paddy/Membrey to sit at FF and learn their crafts). And, for how long has he had knee problems? He is one of the most professional athletes in the game and has been undergoing these problems for years.. St Kilda only play 4 top 8 teams (Essendon twice) in the first 17 rounds so it's not as if he will be up against it and the ball won't be coming in enough, so their fixture isn't a worry to me, and I'd sideways him before his super strong run of hard teams.

His game in the one off against Ireland was super impressive and he is looking very fit.. And to be honest I think their forward acquisitions will only improve his game and take the pressure off him.

Rookies are still subject to change also, not finalised! Cash left - $50k or so, much more than before - still not worrying about bye structure as of yet, still have plenty of time to figure that out.

Heath Shaw, Michael Hibberd, Grant Birchall, Trent Mckenzie, Shane Biggs, Hugh Goddard
Tom Lamb, Brendon Abbott

Scott Pendlebury, Nathan Fyfe, Joel Selwood, Trent Cotchin, Dane Swan, Angus Brayshaw, Isaac Heeney, Blaine Boekhorst                          Jayden Laverde, Nathan Freeman

Nic Naitanui, Matthew Kreuzer
Matthew Leuenberger, Toby Nankervis

Lance Franklin, Dustin Martin, Nick Riewoldt, Jack Ziebell, Michael Walters, Mitch Clark,
Jesse Hogan, Ahmed Saad
Team looks pretty good

I'm also pretty keen on Shaw and Mckenzie in defence, think they will both be keepers as long as they play out the year.
I actually kinda want to pick Cotchin myself, but that would mean dropping an Ablett/Rocky/Watson/Jelwood, or upgrading Rich from what I have so far. Think Swan will improve, but not sure how much. Risky pick there.
Rucks are good.
Dunno if Nroo is worth it, but he does usually start well. I'd probably prefer to start with someone who I'd want to keep for the whole year tbh, and save the trade.

Ricochet

Nice side Wato. Only knock I have would be no Ablett and no Rocky.
Love the 3 rucks you have, I've been set on it also. Maybe also consider Bellchambers in the fwd line instead of Walters? Would give you even extra cover and Belly will be the #1 ruck at Ess.

Thanks GL and Rico for both your responses, I appreciate it a lot, and thank you to everyone else so far who I've got back to individually.

This new team is in light of the new DPP players, yet rookies are much the same and will change over the course of the preseason.

Have made a few changes, give us your thoughts please. $59k in the bank.

Really like the team, not sure if McKenzie will average high enough to be worth getting. Also Luenberger on the bench is a waste of money. Also when the actual prices come out u probably won't be able to afford your current team.

Thanks a heap man. I think with a full year and staying on the park Cannon can average 95ish considering this year unsubbed he averaged 90 and the year before he averaged 88.. Has Malceski to sway attention from him and is a beautiful kick of the footy, so will always be used in their transition (will watch in the preseason however).
Leuey will rotate with Kreuzer and I am pretty firm on this ruck setup as a) it generates a whole lot of cash) b) is the same price as another premo but will gain me cash and hopefully points through loopholing and c) I could potentially find a keeper.
I think I won't be able to afford it either man which is a bummer, but if it comes to that it may just be a case of scrapping Bellchambers and going for someone like Ben Reid or another cheap but proven player. Thanks a heap mate for your input, much appreciated.

I'm gonna be 100% honest here and say that this may be the best team I've seen. Only negative is no Gaz or Rocky, but that's still a really good midfield. flowering love that defence. I'm not gonna be risking Kreuz myself, and think it may be a waste as IMO Leuey should score better and is safer anyway, but could pay off big time.

Good luck mate :)

This is team is great. Can't fault it at all.
Only pick I don't like is Mckenzie. But you obviously want him there so why not.
Could you rate my team at: http://forum.fanfooty.com.au/index.php/topic,99683.0.html

Very nice team buddy. I think its a waste of money having Leuy sitting on the bench, so trade Kreuz to a cheaper player I think.

Ringo

Very Strong Team - I do not like both Kruse and Berger but understand your reasoning behind it. So based on that I would probably look at rep[lacing Bellchambers in forward line only minor though as gives you added protection.

Also just personal prefer Swan in AF/DT more than SC as his SC scoring is usually below his cores in those competitions.

Dons

Nice team mate. I have same ruck and fwd line set up, but am starting to wonder if belly is needed or worth it. He really sucked this year, and Giles could well simply take Ryders spot. Being able to loophole r2 and r3 means u don't really need a r/f  either, and after rd 8 port only play 2 more Sunday games, not to mention 2 Thursday and 2 Fridays games where Harvey will be useless to loophole with. I'm now thinking of going a melb, etc non playing ruck to loophole all year with, or a rookie who plays to cash in to someone like that. Interestingly, Freo have a lot of Sunday games towards the end of the year, and a couple of cheapish r/f players, however they are likely to play a few games this year again I'd think...

Thanks man! Yeah I've now changed him to Malceski at this stage but he is most likely to become NDS who im hoping gets DPP which he should considering the MID/FWD DPP changes they made. I will get onto that very soon, cheers again mate.

Thanks boys - Only reason to having both Kreuzer and Leuenberger is to maximise points between the two of them with Nic Nat, and to have a good injection of cash after I sell and upgrade one, and that is really the determining factor for me.
Ringo, Belly is now gone in my updated team for Reid who after a good preseason should be able to average 70-80 points and increase to say $400k where I can upgrade him to a premium.

Yeah Belly is gone now mate, thinking the same! I was never really fond of him with Giles, and I think Belly is a much better forward and may infact play larger times up front than in the ruck which could hampen his scoring abilities. Yeah will have to look at that, more so for the first half of the year rather than the second for loopholing so it might be a Port or a Melbourne player considering their draws. Thanks for your input though mate.

But a very very good side mate. Maybe also consider Buddy as more of an upgrade target than a starter.

Very good side can't fault any picks! I know he is a rookie but is Jack Steele going to get games? Like I have no Idea I'm just wondering.
Not sold on Franklin either but that's just my opinion I would take Martin over him.
