I think you need a premo at M5, that to me is critical. Most teams that don't, have Clark at F6, I think you're over exposing yourself to rookies.
Most haven't gone with 4x 120+ premos in the middle though. Don't get me wrong, I am definitely looking to find a way to get Cotch in at M5 but won't drop Ablett, Rocky, Jelwood or Pendles.

I think it's possible to do that and I would recommend it, I think your 3 high end mid rookies could be a source of income. I also think you could downgrade one of Simpson, Shaw or Hurn to a mid pricer, this will get you very close to the 540k.
But then you make the backline weak as flower.

Hurn vs Ibbotson is about 10 points difference, Cotch vs an M8 rookie could be 40-50 points. It's also not detrimental on the trade front, Cotch is a keeper and should manage 105-110 and become a season's end M8. Hurn comes with more question marks in my opinion.
Pretty sure he'd still need another 200k or so? Depending on which rookie he's upgrading. Also, if Cotch only goes 105, could be missing out on some better scores as M8.

I've had a look and it would basically mean

Hurn + NVB + Cockatoo

vs

Ibbo + Cotchin + Boekhorst

Points-wise its a huge win but it leaves me a lttle tight for cash for rookies. So on the surface it looks good but may have to revert back if those rookies are needed

Bully

Great team, looks much better with M5 covered.

Vinny

I like it man, now the structure is same as mine. Looks stronger IMO.

As good as Rocky is, doesn't Ward/Fyfe + Barlow/Fyfe sound better than Rocky + Cotchin?

Just something to think about, I know you are pretty set on him.

Nah man I can't see Rocky dropping enough to fall out of top 3 mids and could actually improve with a stronger midfield around him. Yeh I'm pretty set on keeping him. And as much as Cotchin annoyed the shower out of me last year, I still have high hopes of him returning to 110+

Yeah fair enough, for me it's not so much Rocky dropping but more so I reckon Fyfe/Ward/Barlow can bridge the gap making the 100k appealing, not match him obviously but still. Rocky will be a freak POD tho for you.

Yeh i'd love to fit Fyfe in man. I've just had the rule right from day 1 to start Ablett and Rocky

Rocky will be a top ten mid so if you can fit him in then go for it. As for Cotch, I brought him in just after the byes and he pretty much delivered in the second half of the season. From round 15-23 he averaged 109, amazing what a difference both Miles & Maric made to his output. Richmond also have a very nice draw, there's early games against the Dogs, Brisbane and Melbourne, teams which he has a very impressive record against. I suspect he'll be a nice POD in the early weeks of the competition.

How about A Swallow for $46k cheaper than Cotchin? I think both are in the 105-110ppg range.

I don't think I would go with either. Swallow will probably give you that consistency but I remember everyone complaining the year that he got injured about his scores prior to the injury. North seem to also have a few more scorers now so I don't think he can really improve the average.

Money Shot

Solid team cant really fault it now with those 5 'premium' mids.

Asparagus

I would go De Goey in front of Brayshaw but that's just because I have seen him the last 2 years and he is hard as a cats head.
Great team too!! Good luck.

He's definitely one to watch man, cheers. Will keep an eye on him

Ricochet

Actually starting to think that I'll revert back to 4 premo mids but add in an extra premo fwd. A few reasons for it.

- DMartin, Swan, Lids, Goddard, Bennell all have the ability to = Cotchin's output
- Clark is still struggling with his calf so its putting me off starting him. Or if he is fit, I'm less confident on fwd rookies scoring as much as some mid rookies

So basically I'm looking at it from a cash generating point of view. Mid rookies to generate more cash and generally score better without a loss of points between Cotchin and a fwd premo. And the extra bench spot gives greater cover for rookies if they miss a game/cop a vest
