Now Swan is looking like a lock considering a 105 average from a forward is what you want. The risk is a lot less then the reward.

Yeh man, even more a lock now if VS follow AF's changes

Ricochet

If VS follow AF I'll try and look something like this...

Salary cap left: $39,600.

Nick Malceski, Heath Shaw, Michael Hibberd, Andrew Walker, Sam Colquhoun, Shane Biggs
Matthew Dick, Brenden Abbott

Gary Ablett jnr, Tom Rockliff, Scott Pendlebury, Nathan Fyfe, Angus Brayshaw, Isaac Heeney, Blaine Boekhorst, Nathan Freeman
Jayden Laverde, Alex Neal-Bullen

Nic Naitanui, Matthew Leuenberger
Matthew Kreuzer, Mitch Harvey

Brett Deledio, Brendon Goddard, Dustin Martin, Dane Swan, Mitchell Clark, Jesse Hogan
Nick Kommer, Jack Steele

Also added Fyfe in just to get 4x 120+ starting mids and because.. well... Fyfey <3

walker probably play fwd role reducing his pts. maybe go walker to hurn/smith?
id go rockliff to selwood more vale there. like the 4-0-6.
Love the ruck strategy same as mine!
I don't like goddard, rather buddy or something like that.
really just opinion here on different players its a really good team!

Yeh have posted my thoughts on some of these concerns earlier in the thread. But basically they are...
Walker is a wait and see. If he plays off hb he'll easily push a 105+ average and will be a lock
Rocky is a lock. I think he can maintain his average in a stronger Brissie midfield. They'll get more footy and control the ball for longer
Yeh used 3 ruck combo this year and have had this combo locked for a while now
Buddy is a rollercoaster so a good chance to grab cheaper during the year. Goddard is a lock for a premo average

i dont think you can go rocky and ablett in the same team thats all.
The arrival of cooney will hurt goddard aswell as heppell improving and the return of jobe. I dont see improvement for goddard like i do christenson, smith, ziebell.... So you could get goddard a lot cheaper later on.

Cooney won't affect Goddard because Goddard is the #2 mid at the Bombers. He won't lose any less time on ball with the inclusion of Cooney, as Cooney plays a more outside role. And he doesn't need to improve because he has gone 100+ for the last 7 years. I'm not sold that those three can 100% go 100+, where as Goddard I know he can.

And will take a lot to change my mind on Rocky. Starting four mids that can go 120+ is the plan atm

I thought the same thing back when he was ridiculously priced as a defender in a strong Saints team and then I got burnt because he came out and averaged over 130 for the season. I am not saying he will average 130, but he is underpriced due to his injury game

Christensen can, it is just his body that doesn't let him. He is likely to be the best risk vs reward player at his price but I don't think he can get his body right.

Yeh JZ has the potential too as well. But I know Goddard is safe so gonna run with him at this stage

he was a main cog for the saints though... at the dons theres watson and heppell ahead of him. floating HB role taken by hibberd. Hocking, Howlett taking the hard ball mid then zaharakis is probably there main MID/FWD swingman. Where does that leave goddard? Out on the wing and playing deep forward occasionally getting in the centre.

Not sure if you watched him much this year man, but he was a vital part of that midfield while floating forward as well. He probably had more responsibility this year to stand up when required than he ever had at the Saints. As Mat said, he's also underpriced. Priced at 102 but if you take out his subbed game he averaged 107

Mat0369

At the Saints you still had Hayes, Dal and Joey in the engine room along with a bunch of other guys like Jones (tagging purposes), Ray, Peake, Baker and co and then Gram, Fisher and Gilbert playing off the half back line.

He will be priced at 102 when he had a 107 average taking out the sub game. He should average at least 105 and as a forward that is going to be top 3 at the position you would think. He also has been a hell of a lot more durable then Christensen/JZ and Smith is still an unproven commodity in a team that could still finish bottom 4

Football changes pretty quickly hey man. Missed one premiership by one bad bounce, and a few kicks away from the other the year before. 2 years later... rebuild mode
