Just a thread to start predictions!

First up... Wooden Spoon.

I think the battle for the Spoon will be between Buenos Aires, New Delhi, Pacific and Beijing. Smokies for the spoon would be teams like Christchurch, Berlin, Tokyo, London and Seoul, but would surprise me really.

I know depth comes a lot into at the top, but really to avoid the spoon IMO you need some solid players at the top.

Top 5 Players at each club, based on AFL Average over the last 3 years:

Beijing: Kreuzer, Wines, Taylor, Stanley, Hooker <-- Has a promising list, if Kreuzer fit, Wines a star. Would expect gradual improvement

Buenos Aires: Schulz, Foley, Wallis, Chaplin, Adams <-- dreadful. Schulz the only player averaging over 80, and only 7 others averaging over 70. In comparison, Dublin and Mexico City each have 8 players averaging over 100

New Delhi: Masten, Nicholls, Warnock, Gaff, Clarke <-- Has 4 players averaging over 80, and another 5 over 70, to be marginally better than Buenos Aires. Rely on a lot of improvement from youngsters and ruck division, will still struggle but have depth.

Pacific: Barlow, Redden, Leuenberger, Gibson, Goodes <--  Topped up well, and with a fit Redden and Leuey, expect improvement, has great depth also

So my bottom 4 would be:

15. Pacific
16. Beijing
17. New Delhi
18. Buenos Aires

Smokie: Seoul

What do you guys think?

kilbluff1985

you saying Seoul are a smokie for bottom 4?

Ricochet

My prediction: NDT won't finish in the bottom 4 ;)

Holz

these teams should be fighting to secure Jpod, he will really help them avoid the spoon.

Jroo

I'd probably go with the same four as you, Oz!

McKenzie, Langdon, Newnes, Sutcliffe
Dangerfield, Greene, D Swallow, Ellis
McEvoy
Boyd, Matera, Lynch, Salem/Ceglar
McGlynn, Whitfield

we should be pushing for the 8

Dunno, I look at Pacific's team and I think they might get out of the bottom 4. They did well in the trade period, so much so that they were over the cap.

That forward line is pretty volatile.

Purple 77

Well, with me, a lot depends on how well Grimes, Daisy, Dixon and Watts do. If they step up and/or stay injury free, my team looks a lot stronger.

But yeah, it could turn to shower as well  :-\

I hope we get a new premier too
