Did the muppets not look at the radar. Looked clear about 2 hours ago. Would of been perfect for a 20 20 to start about now!

Can not rely on radar though - was showing clear as you said but was pissing down at my place.

Yeah surely they could have swapped some games around to keep games going , hell they can hold the soccer world cup with twice the teams quicker than this is taking turning out to be boring and to drawn out  >:(
Each team in the Soccer World Cup got a week long break too, so I'm not sure what you are asking for here?

A schedule is a schedule, games get rained out, you can't predict the weather. However just to be on the safe side next World Cup will be hosted in Perth and Adelaide, just so that there is 0% chance of a match being rained off. Final can be a toss up between Adelaide Oval and that new Stadium being built in Perth. Who's with me!

Hey PB you can't predict the weather even the weather men can't the point is this WC is just to drawn out it's to long it could have been done in half the time , it's in 2 countries and we have countless venues but we have no game because it's wet in one venue there should be another game on somewhere else , now I don't have Fox and you can call me a tightarse fair enough but if this Aussie game is rained out like it looks like what is going to happen that means there is 1 free to air game in a fortnight when we are the hosts now there is something really wrong about that  ::)
The TV rights and the schedule are completely different matters. I agree with you that it's crazy how we can't get at least 4 games a week on FTA. Or even like only the matches with two of the so-called top 8 nations playing.

But the scheduling I don't think it bad, the longer the better haha, more cricket!

I don't know much about how TV rights work, but surely the CWC is on the anti-siphoning list meaning that 9 was able to show as many matches as they want?

Does this mean 9 made the decision to only broadcast Aussie matches?

Just looked it up and they aren't even showing all Quarter Finals. Only the Aussie QF, Semis and Final ???

i reckon they really dropped the ball on this one, its a world cup, once every 4 years, there is a cyclone in the state u scheduled a match in 4 days out, if its a final is this ok too? the hypothetical ship was sinking slowly and they all just sipped chardonnay until it sunk ::)

What confuses me is why we play cricket in summer. Sure its tradition and blah blah blah, as well as it would be better for marketing purposes, but for a game where you can't play if its raining?

What is wrong with playing 2 games in Oz today. Now a perfectly fine day in Brisbane wiyj fprecast of only the occassional shower so we could get a game today.  This shower umpires and teams were here for yesterday so a days postponement should not have caused problems. The West Indies Zimbabe game does not start till 2:30pm tomorrow so ample time if any of current umpires required.

Just not good enough to factor in possible rained out games.

Yeah would it have been so bad that they announced a couple of days ago it had been moved to Sunday it's not like they are exhausted from playing to much cricket , are you sure politicians are not running this ?  :P

shaker

Haha we were thinking the same thing at the same time maybe we should be running it  ;)

The final has a reserve day so that is not a problem.

As I said earlier, if people want to avoid washouts, then next time we host a CWC we'll play it solely in Perth and Adelaide. Hasn't rained in Adelaide for 32 days and counting. That will surely avoid any possibility of a washout.
