Just checked again and it is clearing very quickly but yeah just because the radar says it's not raining does not mean it is not haha just would like to get a half decent game going we can't afford to give the Bangers 1 point  :P
Either way Australia still need to beat New Zealand if they want to come top of the group. If anything Bangladesh getting that one point will hurt England more.

True but if this was a washout and NZ beat the Aussies the Bangers put themselves in a position if they can cause more upsets which could see both Poms and Aussies in trouble
Australia are safe don't worry. Remember if you beat the Associate nations, in group A that is Afghanistan, Scotland and England, then you will make the quarters ;)

With the forecast toady for this afternoon clearing suspect we may get a 25 over game each - depending on the amount of Rain that falls in Brisbane over the next few hours. Looking at radar expect 4-5hours of rain and then clearance.  Amount of rain has been forecast downwards to between 50 and 100mls down from the 150 - 200mls in some further good news.

Yeah just looking at the radar Ringo may even clear a bit quicker hears hoping  :)
Strill pouring here though and I am only 10 mins from the Gabba,

heavy rain looks as though it has cleared but still drizzling,

If we get play by 6;30pm Qld time (5 and a half hours time) we get the minimum 20 overs game so fingers crossed,

Haha yeah think we are ok full points today would be good it's just they have played so little cricket of late is a bit of a concern think the cup is being drawn out far to long surely teams can play more than 1 game a week  ::)

being that it has been raining in Brisbane for days

being that there is no other cricket game in Australia today

could the ICC and CA have come up with a plan B venue?

I know there is all the tickets sold, media rights, blah blah, at this point a WC game is more important than that isnt it?

I would rather they played in somebodies backyard with no cameras

huge country, no game cos its raining in one corner of the nation, sounds pretty piss weak, dare i say un Australian  :-X

Nige

I just wanna see Chris Gayle go nuts like we know he can just once this World Cup, same with Shahid Afridi.

if cricket was the primary priority (which it should be in a WC) they would not have been sitting on their hands the last two days >:(

This. Maybe have an emergency venue like Etihad Stadium if the forcast is heavy rain. Although there could be some problems is its an A-League venue.

Yeah surely they could have swapped some games around to keep games going , hell they can hold the soccer world cup with twice the teams quicker than this is taking turning out to be boring and to drawn out  >:(

True I don't see why they need to have a week long break, and have the tournament drag on for over a month.

Each team in the Soccer World Cup got a week long break too, so I'm not sure what you are asking for here?

A schedule is a schedule, games get rained out, you can't predict the weather. However just to be on the safe side next World Cup will be hosted in Perth and Adelaide, just so that there is 0% chance of a match being rained off. Final can be a toss up between Adelaide Oval and that new Stadium being built in Perth. Who's with me!

Hey PB you can't predict the weather even the weather men can't the point is this WC is just to drawn out it's to long it could have been done in half the time , it's in 2 countries and we have countless venues but we have no game because it's wet in one venue there should be another game on somewhere else , now I don't have Fox and you can call me a tightarse fair enough but if this Aussie game is rained out like it looks like what is going to happen that means there is 1 free to air game in a fortnight when we are the hosts now there is something really wrong about that  ::)

Bill Manspeaker

this is so shower

why did we have to be the rained out game. seriously
