The only relevance to this decision was Taylor trying to get his hundred, but imagine if the game was in the balance :o
we'd probably have a lawsuit on our hands!

Hmmm, I've seen the video on the ICC site now. From the real time footage that there was, I say out.

Who cares really, same result
yeah but shower, put yourself in Taylor's boots. first ever ODI century, stolen

that's if it wasn't infact out. I'm not really the expert here. but geez, if he got ripped off, that's just not fair

BratPack

ICC Admitted they flowered up. Doesn't help Taylor any

yeah I get what you mean, but for whatever reason there is a milestone sort of feeling, like some sort of accomplishment you get from a single innings. and like I said, I get what you mean, because what's the difference between a 98 and 100?

but that's the game. he got robbed, and I don't like it

Doesn't sit well with me either, he will never be able to say he scored a ton on world cup debut infront of 90k. However, having said that, I'm sure there have been other batsmen who have been equally 'robbed' in the 90s before DRS, such as being given out lbw when they clearly hit it or given out caught behind when they clearly didn't. Nothing we can do about it now, just move on. Really, it was far more Taylor's teamates inept batting more than the umpires that cost him his ton.

that's exactly right. if his cow teammates had've done something, he might have scored that century

just one of those things we'll never know. was never meant to be, unfortunately for Taylor

good luck to him in this WC though, I seriously hope he can play well for the rest of the tournament

AND HAZLEWOOD DOESN'T EVEN GET A WICKET AND NOW HE'LL BE DROPPED FOR CUMMINS.  >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

I would have picked Cummings before him anyway so not fussed.

yep same korridor. I don't play fantasy but I told my sister to pick Paddy. plus I love Paddy, little man crush going on since that South African tour

also told her to pick Smiddy  :-\ not a good start :P

Mailman the 2nd

Hazlewood should be kept with. That's pretty much the first bad game he's had this summer

I agree it is his first bad game but Cummings has bigger upside and should be picked ahead of him.
However it was 50-50 call first game. Hazelwood got the nod and did not really impress so over to Cummings in game two I say.

Taylor was denied his chance to get a hundred by inefficient umpiring and that is the point and i agree.  The Law of Cricket says the ball is dead when a decision is made in this case he was given out and if you look at the replays closely you will see finger was raised when Taylor was half way down the pitch so by the law of physics run out was not effected before decision was made (Anderson only just failing to make his ground)
So I just hope as Morgan said in the after match interviews that I this rule is clarified for rest of Tournament. Imagine if result was close and 10 runs needed of the last overs.

If Bailey had any guts he could have said to umpires recall and play till final wicket falls and that would have been best outcome.

Well played Taylor and sorry you were denied the chance of getting your first ODI 100.  Great statement for we midgets as well.  And yes I support Australia but really detest injustices.

PowerBug

Despite admitting to an error, I still see why the three umpires decided to give it out. Maxwell was in the throwing motion as the finger went up.

Anyway, two matches today. All African battle between RSA and Zimbabwe early, followed by India vs Pakistan. If the next 40 group matches are anything like the first 2, this will be a great tournament.
