Watson has been resting on his laurels that he achieved by playing well years ago. Hard to believe that his average is better than that of Finch, Smith and Warner.

The cat has nine lives though, he'll still be given every chance to get out in the 40s or 90s.  :P

Finally, some decent commentary. Please don't leave us Shane.

People say Watson is such a great ODI player and he was going to fire at the WC

Well he got a well deserved duck.
What did he do wrong today? Sometimes Torp, you can just get a good ball first up and edge it. Happens to everyone. Still a world class one day player.

tbagrocks

problem with Watto and btw you are all wrong here! Is he just doesn't get fit enough! Can tell just by how he lumbers in and bowls!

But, has anyone actually seen his bowling record in the last few years? Yes he needs to make runs and no, he shouldn't bat at 3, either open or bat at 6

But still, seen him bowl? Seen him make 170 in an ODI? Right then! He's still first 11

Smiddy out to a beauty from Woakes.

I think PB was the one who called Smiddy failing this World Cup.

I still hope it's not the case, but it's not a good start.

It begs the question, did England make the right decision in electing to bowl first?

If/when one of these two get out, Maxi will be in. It's gonna be a good test for him coming in so early to see if he can bat like he did in the warm up vs India.

Bill Manspeaker

haha you can watch the game through the stump mic

not in HD though. flower that :P

I honestly think they did even before these wickets, the ball is swinging so much it's Seamers paradise.
