how about a reserve day for every game, they play like 2 games a week, for a world cup it just seems a pathetic way of doing things

hypothetically: if a top side such as Australia has two washouts against weak teams and lost one game to say NZ they could effectively miss the finals due to those two washouts, seems like a pretty poor way to have a teams fate decided being it was a four year preparation

That is the equivalent of 2 losses though. they'll still get 8 points and that is enough to sit 3rd in the group.

Setting a reserve day for everyone would take too much work. Think about New Zealand already and Scotland in a few days, they have 2 full days off between matches. Give them a reserve day and suddenly they have 1.

I'm not sure why people are all up in arms over some rain that didn't allow a match to go ahead. If it was any other team you wouldn't care anyway. It actually has no bearing on Australia's finishing position unless you think New Zealand will find a way to lose to both Afghanistan and Bangladesh. A bigger problem is the TV stuff and those idiots at Ch 9.

Another wicket for the Afghans, looking like a really tasty contest here.

Wow Matthews and Jayawardene were showing there class but both gone within 2 overs, game on. SL need 51 off 51 with 4 wickets left. Come on Afghans, they have been so impressive this tournament.

il keep it simple, its a world cup, its not good enough

setting a reserve day is too much work ??? have u heard of test match cricket, 5 days in a row 100 overs a day :-X

PowerBug

You can't compare test to ODI cricket. The tempo of an ODI game is much higher, 50 overs of movement and running is just as if not more tiring than a test day.

It's really not a big deal, one rained  off match because of some insane weather that called off a winter sport (soccer) the night before.

Afghanistan in the box seat to win here!!!!
