I don't know why England don't just play Bopara and then actually use him as an all-rounder
Because as a batsman he's not good enough to make the side. And in the last 7 ODIs he's bowled about 7 overs all up. The introduction of Ali as an All Rounder has hurt him.

In saying that, he wouldn't be worse than the lot currently there. England have to change it up for the Scotland match.
Finn out, Jordan/Tredwell in. Ballance out, Hales in. Wouldn't go as far as dropping Ali, Bell or Taylor yet. Morgan, Broad and Anderson have to stay. And Woakes and Root are the only two trying so they stay.

So they need to go in next match:
Ali
Bell
Hales
Root
Morgan
Taylor
Buttler
Woakes
Broad
Jordan/Tredwell
Anderson

And pray they don't flower it up.

Ballance out, Hales in.
??? what have you done with the real PB?
Just annoyed that's all. Two very soft dismissals from him, not up to standard, probably nervous. Best to take him out of the side so he can focus on the 1000 runs he'll score in the Ashes in July :)

Alternatively, they can try this:
Ali
Bell
Hales/Ballance
Root
Morgan
Taylor
Buttler
Bopara
Woakes
Broad
Anderson

Root is the 6th bowler, Bopara bats where he belongs, and his bowling can be used this time.

Turns out KP and Stokes were probably good enough to make this England side... ::)

Think everyone is forgetting apart from the Poms not being very good the Kiwis are the form team , watch out we have to play them next and it looks like we won't be playing any cricket till then and we are taking Clarke with no form and Watson who has been rubbish for some time now into that game it looks , not confident  :'(

Yeah well, they don't bowl him because obviously they don't rate his bowling... Still, he has to come in to the side next match. Experience ahs to count for something.
