Thanks Carlton.  ;D

Absolutely stoked to have gotten Laverde, his pre-draft hype was obvious and this is a massive slide. Langford seemed keen when his name was called out but will be a longer term prospect I think.

Happy with both of these boys, sincere thanks to both Port and Carlton.  :-*

Don't make it even worse for us  :(  :'(

As a PAFC supporter, I don't think draftees is what Port Adelaide needs right now (probably could skip the next three drafts considering our last 7).

Regarding Laverde, a steal. Couldn't believe it, shocked when he wasn't pick 5, even more shocked when he wasn't pick 6 or 7. Ultimately, you can imagine what I was thinking for picks 10-19. Was even shocked that Essendon didn't pick him up with #17 (best case scenario). Seriously, a draft steal. Do you think he will be getting games next season? Thinking of him as a fantasy prospect (probably the best winning club a draftee could go to fantasy wise)

Hell yeah!

I think Langford and Laverde should both be getting games next season, both will be part of our next Premiership team should they stay uninjured I'd think.

SEN talking about these two right now. Scott Pendlebury type players.

We were obviously worried Carlscum would take Langford

Was funny they crossed to Langford live he couldn't even watch the draft was covering his head

Why they didn't take Laverde is insane though.

Supposedly they were keen on Weller at #19 and then Boekwho at #28, but then Weller went early and...Well,  yeah.

As for Laverde getting games next year, probably too early to tell, might as well wait for pre-season. Over 30 games have been freed up between Ryder, Hardingham, Dell, DVU, Cooney and Giles the only incoming. He'll probably have to earn his way in as opposed to replacing somebody, but he's definitely in the discussion and will be worth keeping an eye on throughout the news this summer.

He is a Bombers supporter I think that was a big reason why he got to us

Love how cocky people get about kids that have never played a game of AFL football.
Under 18 hype doesn't always translate to AFL footy. I'm a Richmond supporter, I should know.

That's why I was surprised with #17 - I knew once he wasn't selected by the Crows with #14 that the Bombers had him
