Has passed away  :(  sad day for Australian sport

Mailman the 2nd

Such a young and promising player as well. To go like that at only 25... hard to find words

Jroo

I'm shocked, awful news. RIP.
Hopefully everyone gets around Sean Abbott, too.

Nails

I always thought he deserved a spot in the squad.

I know this goes against some of my posts

but R.I.P. Phil.

Vinny

I still can't believe it.

Gotta feel for Abbott too.

Pkbaldy

So Sad.... Hope Abbott gets all the help he can too. R.I.P.

roo boys!

R.I.P buddy. Condolences to all associated and all involved. Tragic time

Part of me hopes they still play the First Test in some form.

Make it an exhibition match, invite players from around the world, and let people who want to play play. I think it would be fitting.

KoopKicka

Absolutely devastated, almost teary right now. Met him a few times. Bloke had a flower-ton of talent and really was a rising star for our country, one of the more humble and respectable ones too. Will certainly be framing his picture I have with his autograph now. R.I.P Champ. :'(

Toga

Still can't believe it, RIP Hughesy.

Grazz

Ringo

Absolutely shattered with the news.  Condolences go out to his family and fellow players.

Sympathies with Sean Abbott as well and trust he gets the support he deserves.

RIP Phillip Hughes

November, death in the Melbourne Cup and now a Shield match

There is sport and there is life, reminding us of how precious it really is!
