Profile

A break out year in 2014 saw Jamie Elliott really establish himself as a dangerous small forward, averaging 1.9 goals per game across 17 games. A hamstring injury that saw him subbed out in round 15 sees him slightly underpriced, having averaged 87.4 points per game without the vest, before missing the last few games of the season also due to injury. Elliott has already stated his ambition to overcome lingering hamstring injuries and becoming a genuine midfield option for the Magpies, and if he has an injury-free preseason he could just find himself in the midfield rotation.

Pros - Undervalued, possibility of more midfield time, goal kicker

Cons - Injury prone, not a high possession player

Prediction - 86

Good player, wouldn't pick him tho unless he shows something big before deadline.

Looks good in my XVIII forward line though :3

Ricochet

Don't know if he's big enough to get a regular midfield gig in the future so personally think he'll be pretty inconsistent most of his career.

Toga

I think he relies on his goals and marks to much for scoring tbh, so even if he did have more stints in the midfield I'm not convinced he'd actually improve his scoring.

Was just having a look at a few alternative options for the forward line outside of the usual few suspects, and I think Jamie would be a good pick in your draft leagues, but I'm not sure he'll be in that top bracket of forwards at the end of season.

Ricochet

Yeh draft leagues he could def be an option. Nice writeup though man, I like reading about the less popular ones

Toga

Thanks mate, trying to come up with a few smokies that might be worth a look ;)

Sweetness

86avg as a forward isn't terrible at all.
Fair bit of risk involved though.

pommyadam

He's regularly top fwd scorer in that Collingwood team (but with Cloke as the other option, that's not exactly a hard task)

Would be handy in a draft league, but has about the same DT relevance as Wingard, which is too inconsistent for mind
Could be useful late in the season for a clutch POD for a tight league game, but can't rely on him long term
