Thought I would start a thread to discuss pre-season training where we can post information on the training.

Very enlightening interview with Sam Mayes, Impressed with his honesty and the way he handles himself.

Great to see that with the new signings competition for spots is already intensifying given that a group of 15 started training 4 weeks before official start.

Interview with Dan McStay after first session.
Fact 17 out of the 22 bettered their set time for the 2k time trial.  Looks like jhe sees himself as a defender this year while he continues to build strength.

Feel free to add any training info you come across to this thread,

GoLions

Hmmm, if McStay is seeing himself as a defender, might not be best 22 then? Cause assuming Hanley and Rich rotate across half back, plus Goose/Clarke/Dizzy/Sauce/Adcock/Harwood, not sure where he fits in

Good to have such a strong competition for spots though, really hoping Mayes and Harwood in particular can take it to the next level in 2015 :)

Ringo

Can see McStay filling a bench position due to his versatility at either end.

Nice article on Dan saying he has been doing a lot of physical work and is fit and aiming for round 1, Will be virtually 12 months to the day so should be a fair chance.

Has been running for a while.  Can not wait to see him and Reddo return along side Beams, Christo and Robbo.

Awesome! Basically a new recruit after missing almost all of this year

Some vision from Yesterdays training sessions.  Gee some of the boys have bulked up a bit especially Archie Smith.

Open training session @ Cansdale St, Yeronga at 8:00am if any is interested,  Bit far away for me with having to take daughter to work.

Some photos from todays training sessions. Great to see the work being put in. Some of the boys looked to have put some muscle on in the off season especially looking at Archie Smith and Jackson Paine.

Reddan running well so looks to be over his injury.

Interesting interview with Cian Hanley as well. Does not lack confidence.

PreSeason Injury update:

Injury List

Matt Maguire (Ankle) - 1 week
Luke McGuane (Knee) - 4 weeks
Lewis Taylor (Knee) - 3 weeks
Trent West (Knee) - 6 weeks
Allen Christensen (Back) - 8 weeks
Cian Hanley (Knee) - 12 months
Stefan Martin (Knee) - 4 weeks
Daniel Merrett (Knee) - 8 weeks

Also this will make fans glad:

"Daniel Rich, Matthew Leuenberger, and Brent Staker, meanwhile, will be pleased to no longer be part of the rehab group, having spent the bulk of their 2014 campaigns there.

The trio have, however, been doing some modified drills in their first week back on the track as a precautionary measure."

Trent West suffered a ruptured ACL in Round 11 so based on the rehab for ACL further weeks is considered reasonable given that Dan Rich also had a ruptured ACL in Round 3 and is only just returning to full training now.

Couple of pics and videos of training at Noosa

this is a short video but hilarious to watch playing bubble soccer.

This is a series of picks from day 2 of the Noosa Camp - looks like some interesting team bonding exercises.
