Best 11: Warner, Rogers, Smith, Clarke, Burns, M Marsh, Haddin, Johnson, Harris, Pattinson, Lyon

Reserves: Watson, Hazlewood, Cummins, S Marsh

Smith, Clarke and Burns can all move about the order, they can all bat between 3-5.
Shaun Marsh is ahead of Burns, was selected before him. I want to keep Smith at 4, where all his runs have come.

Well he got alot of his runs at 5 too.

Why do we keep were he is scoring runs? He is our best batsmen so we put him where we need our best batsmen to bat and that is 3.

Clarke takes 4 back anyway when hes back.

You guys just dont see how important #3 :P

A good number 3 will improve the averages over everyone below him

Bill Manspeaker

India did well to only lose 1 wicket that session

need an early one after lunch before they get set again

some people cant handle #3-migh be a mental thing, not saying Smith can't! past #3's like Ponting had a good go of it because he came in at 1/100 instead of like 1/20, where a lot of the pressure was gone.

Yeah... Nah.

Burns is the future of the test team, Marsh is a spud. I think we pick a not spud over a spud.

As I said, Burns could probably bat at 3.

But thats the thing with punter at 3 if it was  1/20 he could dig in and it be 2/100+

With someonw shower like Watson or a young unproven player then 1/20 quickly becomes 2/40
