Come on Tbag, there is a case to be said for both watching players and watching stats. Using both will always give you better knowledge than one.
Biff, the video did make me laugh but wasn't really what I was trying to say. :P
No, there is no case for judging a player on stats when you can watch them, sorry but this is the truth. You get a far better judgement on a player if you understand the sport and am able to watch them perform it :)

Ill even bet the best judges of these sports don't even look at the stats? :o

Oversimplifying things a bit I think here teabs. Statistics are extremely valuable and are primarily used to quantify and legitimise observations, however some particularly gifted people can use them to make their own judgements. Hence the 'moneyball' strategy which has seen a lot of success over the last decade, and is based entirely off statistical analysis. :)

I see what you're saying and perhaps statistics are overused at times in certain sports, which is obviously compounded even further on a text-based forum ie FanFooty, but they are valuable despite this.

Not sure if the pitch has found some life, or if Australia is being over aggressive.

JBs-Hawks

A mixture of both but is the right way to go for Aus, no point letting in just be a draw.

What do we reckon the Indians will be made to chase for victory?

Fairly sure Australia want the win, so it's gonna have to be big enough to that India won't get it, but they can't really bat for too long either or they'll run out of time to bowl them out.

I think whatever they make in the next 2 hours, might bat for an hour in the morning depending on how many wickets fall/who is left to make runs.
