Mailman the 2nd

Siddle is just an Australian version of Ishant Sharma at the moment.

1. 120-130 kph pace that really doesn't trouble any batsmen.

2. Stock "wicket taking" delivery is just a short ball, both have bowled it far too often now that it becomes incredibly predictable.

Starc, on the other hand has much more pace, has swing and a really strong yorker as his wicket ball. He's also a very strong bowler to the tail and a half decent tail batter too.

His job isn't to be consistent, it wasn't Mitchell Johnson's role and that's what the other 4 guys are there for.

Really just a standard case of everybody being like the old selectors and throwing out players after 1 bad game

Siddle bowls medium pacers now man haha :s

Starc's exactly like Mitchy though, which is why he's almost certain to replace him. He's just not as consistent or menacing.
"They're exactly the same, but one's not as consistent or menacing". What? How are they exactly the same then? I sort of get at what you're saying, but Johnno at the moment is a far far better bowler than Starc, consistency is so vital in tests in building pressure, you can't have Starc bowling pies once every couple of overs.
Alright, similar may have been a better word. I meant as far as what they bowl, but Johnson does a substantially better job. I'm anti-Starc, but I was stating that because they're similar, it's pretty much a given that Starc is Johnson's replacement in the test starting tomorrow and probably long term too. We can only hope that Starc becomes even half as good as Johnson.

Just a thought .......

Why does Starc deserve a Test recall based on 2 BBL overs that were unplayable, given how badly he bowled a month ago?
He deserves a recall because he is next in line. Guys are never going to succeed if we play them for only 1 test and then drop them if they aren't match winners in that game.

Why does CA insist on playing a long drawn out BBL right during a Test series?
Because it brings in the dollars ;)

jobe#4

to be fair to both Siddle and Starc...the pitches have offered NOTHING! for pace bowlers! id Sydney offers swing then Starc could be the match winner

GoLions

Starc will play because he's a left-armer and Johnson is out

Jay

At least Starc has the potential to be quality one day, Siddle is done.

elephants

Yep.

Agree with it or not, Starc has to be picked on potential.

Tominator

Chadd Sayers was doing very well in the Shield; has been for a couple of seasons now

But plays for SA so a bit harder to get a look in, so it seems.
