He didn't keep his word, but he was still entertaining.  8)

Just quietly, a reason why he should definitely not be in the Test side atm.
"Oh, yeah, nah, we've got the run rate under control, just gonna bat deep into this innings."
Nek minut, stupid top edge and out.

Stick to the short form sonny!  ::)

Vinny

He isn't disciplined enough to be a test cricketer.

Again I say... Some said the same about David Warner early on.

I still believe that Glenn Maxwell can and will be a solid test cricketer some day.

Vinny

Yeah of course, I'm willing to give him a chance, but putting him into the test side at this stage was a mistake. He showed nothing in the test game he played except a lack of discipline.

You learn from your mistakes, and experience and exposure is invaluable. Plus, I think it's good that he got a chance against somebody like Pakistan rather than being thrown in during a crucial game against a side like South Africa, England or India or the hate and criticism would be unfairly amplified.

Yeah throwing him into the 2nd game of a 2-match series that we are down 1-0 in and require a win to tie the series at best (and avoid losing it) is so much less crucial!

White is ice-cold haha, great guy to have at the death. I wish he could get a chance in the one day team too, he has been in exceptional form in that format in the last couple of seasons. Not sure who you could drop for him though at this stage, will have to bide his time.

Personally from his peformance against Pakistan I don't think anything could be said that would be considered unfairly amplified, but i've made my thoughts clear on him so will say no more  :P

I just don't see how you could leave out the best short-form batsman so far this summer (both domestic and international).

Yeah I know, but who do you drop for him? No-one that stand out in that regard. Hopefully he gets his chance though.

How can the selectors drop Smith for the 1st one dayer against SA, You have to be joking probably the best player in UAE but obviously does not count and George Bailey preferred

Nige

So Hazlewood in and Smith out, interesting decision.
